Dual Bedroom_Office Space Furniture Placement
Comments (13)New Direction -- taking all of your great feedback into consideration, I have decided to move my office to what is currently my living room aka "the room that nobody uses" from the bedroom project for my granddaughter. So here's where I am on bedroom project; see attached "full size" bed find from Restore for Habitat! Unicorn comforter ordered from the Company Store. NEXT - need help with paint suggestions. Currently has "whiskers" on 3 walls. I am fine with using this as a base or repainting the whole room. Obviously being a little girl, If I work with the whiskers, I will need to throw some pink in with. Maybe the bed wall grey & pink horizontal stripes? Since I have the 2 closet doors that take up a whole wall, should I paint doors & associated trim same color as wall so they do not stick out? I threw in pic of dots that can be ordered from pottery barn that look kind of cute. Can't wait to see your ideas!...See MoreHelp with size and placement of bedroom rug.
Comments (30)Eld, partly because of the dust but also because i like to be able to push the bed aside at times. My vac has an attachment that could reach under there but rugs seem to hold dust. I like to use a dust mop, or I should say that I like for the cleaning lady to use a dust mop. My bed is really heavy and has an upholstered headboard. I like to push it away from the wall to vacuum the back of the headboard and also the baseboards. Yeonassky, whoever gets out of the other side of the bed gets to step on really cold floor. That part of the floor is over an overhang. If it’s my cat or dog, they could just jump over me. 😉. I am leaning toward a rug that covers the open floor area but does not go under any furniture....See MoreNeed help with bedroom furniture placement
Comments (5)If you put two twin beds and a desk in that room it's going to be a tight fit. Unless your sons are short you are going to want to get extra long twins. Does the measurement of the room not include the closet? Normally you would put the head of the beds on the far right wall so they're not visible from the door. I would put a bedside table between them. Try the desk on the opposite wall. It depends on how large a desk is required. If you can get by with one that is only 24" deep that would be easier to fit than a larger one. Also look to see if you can find a daybed/trundle arrangment with extra long twins. I don't know if they're made that way or not. Bunk beds don't seem appropriate for grown people....See MoreMaster bedroom redesign. Need help figuring out furniture placement!
Comments (12)Left over space and stuff everywhere and all over the floor?NO. You don't want that! You aren't using a generous room to best advantage for everything. You want a space resembling inviting or peaceful , and organized. "convenient drop zone" ? NO. NO. No. "Drop" what exactly? You hang clothes. Charge a phone. Basket books or magazines, purge when done, or make the console below where i have moved the tv....to low bookcase storage! Adequate thought to what you need to store, and where it makes sense. Add a picture of the interior of the closet and how you may in fact be wasting space as you are here? Add the primary bath photo as well! Are you ready to rip the edge to edge carpet? That's the only really great way to have an area rug - a hard surface floor. Then you get a 10' x 14' rug, that can be the start of a great feeling in the room...which would feel like what..... to you? Post some inspo pictures of bedrooms you love. ( vertical blinds must go......tata)...See MorePatricia Colwell Consulting
