New Construction and New Furniture Placement.
Comments (9)camlan, good point about the huge MB and the tiny others. I know that we remodeled to add walk in closets, and now I keep all my clothes in there. I have an elfa drawer stack for undies and socks, and shelves for folded clothes that would have gone into drawers in another scenario. Yet I have an empty dresser and mirror in the room, since I need the surface for my jewelry box. And the room would look too empty without it. I do think that larger closets have changed what furniture is used for clothes storage. But I think bedrooms for adults have become more like student bedrooms with office/computer areas in them....See MoreLR - TV and Fireplace placement
Comments (6)Will you actually use the fireplace? How much use will the t.v. get? Is it for occasional viewing or nightly viewing? How much use will the t.v. get? Is it for occasional viewing or nightly viewing? Which direction are those windows facing? This arrangement is not good if you will actually use the fireplace, with one of the couches with it's back to the fire and neither near it. If you go with this t.v./fireplace arrangement I'd consider placing your sofas in an L so both can view both the t.v. and the fireplace. With windows on three sides this seems like a problematic room for t.v. viewing, as I'd assume you'll get a lot of glare. Perhaps you could put the t.v. opposite the fireplace, and arrange the furniture so that there are two seating areas? Also, make sure you're mocking it up with furniture to scale so you can see what will work....See MoreFurniture Placement: HELP! OPTION A or B
Comments (4)I do think I'd like the TV in the bookcase, but I see that your sofa is a dual lounger, so I assume it is the preferred seat for watching. What about making the FP area a reading/game/coffee area with a small game table between the two chairs? They could still swivel to watch TV, but their main purpose would be different. Then pull the love/lounger forward toward the bookcase/TV so it is within the proper range for viewing your TV. Your rug is pretty big, so you might use it in the master under the bed and get a pair of smaller rugs (at least as wide as the hearth) for this space....See Moreliving room help setup/decorate/move furniture
Comments (6)Sweetie, It could be a lot of things. You won't know until you open the curtains, let some light in, tidy up to the best of your ability...........and take some decent photos of the entire space. Better yet, would be to draw the space, add dimensions, doors, windows , openings, and dimensions for those as well. Based on what info you gave, it's "mystery meat"...See Moreaustin81
