I like the Savoie Gray because it's different. Kitchens are becoming like Catholic school uniforms these days. The percentage of quartz in a product isn't an indicator of where it's made. I saw someone post recently that that's how you can tell, but some Chinese quartz companies do claim 93%. What no one really knows about the Chinese quartz is how it's made, and I have read several posts of the surface scratching and pitting easily, which quartz shouldn't do in normal use. Yes, the edges can chip, so be careful around your sink with cast iron pans.

I think design is changing faster than it ever has and it's hard to keep up with it. Just because I bought something only a few years ago doesn't mean that it's not already dated. My house was built in 1999 and the finishes that were used caught the tail end of the 90s trends so it was already dated when it was built. When we remodeled our guest bath four years ago, we bought Giallo Ornamamental Light granite for the small vanity because it was the only cream-colored remnant we could find and we had guests coming. Shortly afterwards, someone here referred to speckled granites as "dog vomit granite". I thought to myself "Yep, that's my GO." I can try to convince myself that it's a popular granite but the truth is, it's not used much anymore. I wish I'd had more choices at the time but I did not. I just took a peek at Cambria and they call their speckled quartz the Classic collection and they have not added new colors since I looked at kitchen countertops six years ago.

You re-picked an all time favorite of ours for its neutral versatility! Silestone El Calacatta Gold Suede is a great way to tie in warm and cool tones and the matte finish gives it a more sophisticated, natural look in our opinion. With your light maple cabinetry this is a much better complement than the original quartz you posted - without any warmth they looked like an afterthought. With your new selection you have brought the netral tones together and you should be confident going forward!

As others suggested, waiting until the other components are in place is very smart. Cloe is generally available, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it being unavailable and causing a delay. The variation of Cloe is what makes it so friendly in terms of balancing cool and warm. I’ve seen it look beautiful in warmer kitchens as well as cooler ones. We used the 5” square Cloe tiles set in a staggered pattern for our backsplash. Our cabinets are SW Extra White and the countertops are MSI Blanca Statuarietto, which has pale gray and pale tan subtle veining. The wall color is Snowbound. Despite being pretty much white on white on white on white, I feel it’s not sterile at all. In adding warm wood accessories and some pottery, towels, plants, etc it has enough “life” for me without being too cluttered. Pics are below so you can see how it plays in our space.
