White Cloe tile with bright white cabinets & white quartz counters?
Hi! Has anyone used Cloe tile in white with bright white cabinets and bright white counters? Curious if the tones will feel off. I'm actually looking for some variation — I don't want the whole kitchen to be the exact same shade of white — but obviously I don't want it to clash. We held up bright white tile against the counters and cabinets and hated it. My hope is that the grayer tones in the Cloe will pull in the gray veining in the counters and contrast against the cabinets a bit... but in a good way?
Our cabinets are St. Martin in Bright White and the countertops are GFO quartz in Calacatta Laguna. It's hard to tell in photos, but the background of the quartz is much whiter than a lot of the other samples we saw. For what it's worth, we want to use white grout with no spacers for the tile.

Comments (10)I get what you're saying! I like to layer texture, too, when going tone on tone. I was thinking a slightly unusual white tile shape for the backsplash to add texture. Our floor will be either bleached oak or grey stained oak (haven't settled on this yet, because we have boards that are nearly 100 years old and will be joined with brand new boards). Our kitchen island will be either very dark grey or battleship grey. My thought this morning was that we could do FC on the island for texture and then do PW on the white cabinets. The thing is that the white cabinets actually don't have that much countertop space (against the backwall where the cooktop will be) so, again, perhaps I'm overthinking this. Comments (2)thank you so much for your response! The floors are quarter sawn white oak that will be stained a warm med tone walnut color. nothing too dark. I did realize when i posted this that my cabinets will touch the ceiling so I decided to go with the same white throughout most of the house on the ceilings, Decorators White. On the top floor, which is our master bedroom suite I think I'm going to use the Chantilly lace. It's a bit darker up there and I'm trying to make it as bright as possible. Thats the color of our vanity in the masterbath, so I may just do all the trim and ceilings that color. That floor is a clean break from all the other walls and trim, so it won't look like a mistake! Truthfully the place was a mess before renovation (we bought it that way) so I really just want everything clean and white!! Comments (59)To add to his helpful post, I teared Mapei Eggshell(Refered to as White in this thread) vs Mapei Avalanche and it was clear to me Eggshell blended better. Though Avalanche did match my sw pure white walls better. Ultimately for the most seemless look I went with the Mapei Eggshell, and here are the results. Really happy with it. 11 months agoHere is a photo I took of the WOW Fez against the Calacatta Laguna at the tile store. The Fez is in the middle. (And the tile people are hiding behind the tile samples😆) Hope this helps! I was so excited to see someone else on here with that same quartz we chose 😊

11 months agoI would NOT select the tile until it's all installed. A missing backsplash doesn't preclude you from using the kitchen.
IMO the tile you selected is too gray because your counter veining is a bit warm, & I would not select a rectangular tile.

11 months agoAs others suggested, waiting until the other components are in place is very smart. Cloe is generally available, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it being unavailable and causing a delay. The variation of Cloe is what makes it so friendly in terms of balancing cool and warm. I’ve seen it look beautiful in warmer kitchens as well as cooler ones.
We used the 5” square Cloe tiles set in a staggered pattern for our backsplash. Our cabinets are SW Extra White and the countertops are MSI Blanca Statuarietto, which has pale gray and pale tan subtle veining. The wall color is Snowbound.
Despite being pretty much white on white on white on white, I feel it’s not sterile at all. In adding warm wood accessories and some pottery, towels, plants, etc it has enough “life” for me without being too cluttered.
Pics are below so you can see how it plays in our space. Last shot is a close up of the counters. We plan to increase the brightness of our lighting.
