quartz help-light gray with veining?

I thought we had picked our quartz. I really like Pental Quartz-Grey Savoie...but installed it would come to $92/sq foot. we could save around $30/sq foot if we went with silestone, q-quartz, or caesarstone (obviously depending on the color we choose.) I've looked at the swatches till I'm blue in the face, but I'm not getting anywhere. Help! (The fabricator I'm leaning toward stocks those products, but we would have to buy the slabs if we use pental quartz.)

(we have true bright white shaker cabinets, will have white subway tile backsplash, and I hate speckly granite-like counters.)

We just had Silestone Snowy Ibiza installed last week. Some say it's a white with veining, some say a light grey with veining. Either way works for me because it's beautiful against the white cabinets. No speckles whatsoever, which was also a deciding factor for us. In my opinion the veining is more of a true veining, and not squiggles. HTH!

$30 less for Caesarstone?? Go for it then! But I think your fabricator figured something wrong on the Pental. If you're in the Portland OR area, I can recommend a Pental fabricator.

My Botticino is similar to Grey Savoie but with fine white veins in a greige field. I love the quiet look. CS Alpine Mist looks nice. I can't tell what color gray it is on their website, but it looks slightly warm. I have a sample of Bianco Drift here and that is a gorgeous white and warm gray with subtle brown flecks here and there. It'd be nice to warm up the typical white and gray color palette, and would relate especially well to any wood you might have in your kitchen--island, floors, barstools....

I chose Silestone Quartz, color: charcoal soap stone counters when I had my kitchen renovated a few years ago. I still love them. They have subtle light gray veining. Easy to clean with dish soap and water, no issues❣️I think they go well with my Plain & Fancy cabinets, color: vista gray.

why aren't you posting pictures of your kitchen and your room-wall colors? I don't understand why you have 'stand-ins' that are 'close' to yours. A picture is worth a 1000 words, yes? just post it instead of trying to describe it to us. What are 'high quaity materials' ?? I mean, that could be million diff things! People are probably mistaking that kitchen picture thinking it's yours, and advising not to paint. You're not getting honesty, you're getting a full on assumption and guess. So, what do yours actually look like? you say it's dim, why? not enough light through windows? ceiling lights? If you want advice on color or design, you're going to have post actual, real pictures of what you're talking about. Otherwise, we're spitting into the wind here!

Might be best to bring your countertop samples home to see how they look in your space with your lighting and cabinet colors. Maybe it's my monitor but the Iverness Frost looks more creamy white vs the Misterio. I wouldn't even look at backsplash tiles until after the cabinets/counters are installed, might be too many competing whites but with right combination can be done. The backsplash would need to marry both cabinet and counter to strike a balance. Hope some pros chime in on this for ideas to consider but will likely want photos of your space to see what you're working with.

I purchased a remnant piece of Thassos Pental White Quartz from a local stone store ( several years ago) that I used as a vanity countertop in my renovated bathroom / laundry room. It looks as great today as the day of installation. No yellowing , no chipping, no scratches. It is a true white.

no. not $30 less...I was doing math weird. it WOULD still be cheaper, though...even for premium caesarstone. but more like $5/sq foot less than premium caesarstone. haha.

I will look at Zodiaq. I think it wouldn't save us anything bc they don't stock it, so I would still have to buy the slabs.

correction to above: it will be $73 sq foot for the pental (have to pay demo/sink no matter which option we go with) so we'd really only save if we liked one of the q-quartz options...which I don't. :(

That may also be Chinese quartz.

it says it's 93% quartz, so I don't think so? I didn't look into it super closely bc none of them were my favs.

CS Alpine Mist is pretty close to that description, as mentioned above. It definitely has an icy look.

BTW, the new CS 2016 colors are nice -- especially Nobel Grey and a new faux Stattuario . Every improving marble looks.

You might also consider Cosmos Venetian Extra White (if it's available in your area). We plan to install that in our new home. Here are some pictures I've found of it online and the last one is a slab here locally (picture was taken in bright sunlight, so it's not great!)

those are really pretty. I like the marble look, but my husband wants more contrast. I think we're going to stick with the savoie grey. it's like reverse marble, hehe.

I like the Savoie Gray because it's different. Kitchens are becoming like Catholic school uniforms these days.

The percentage of quartz in a product isn't an indicator of where it's made. I saw someone post recently that that's how you can tell, but some Chinese quartz companies do claim 93%. What no one really knows about the Chinese quartz is how it's made, and I have read several posts of the surface scratching and pitting easily, which quartz shouldn't do in normal use. Yes, the edges can chip, so be careful around your sink with cast iron pans.

Oh ok. Still doesn't matter for me! Ha. caesarstone has a new one-Tuscan dawn and also urban jungle. If they were gray instead of tan, I would have loved them!
