Paint Bathrooms DIY

Same white paint for door trim and for vanity in bathroom?

I am considering painting the vanity in my master bathroom. I was considering painting it white, but am unsure if this was a good idea for a DIY upgrade. I know that colors like gray and black (or an expresso stain) work well to update a dated 80's medium brown vanity. However, I am unsure whether this approach will be as effective for the color white....or if it will just look cheap (and not at all like the the lovely white vanities seen in upscale photos).

IF a DIY white paint job IS a good idea, is it alright to use the same paint that I will use for trim throughout the house? I have not purchaed yet, but suppose that his would be a white semi-gloss. Any go-to suggestions (for a house that I am staging)?

Any thoughts on this matter would be most appreciated. Thank you!

You can buy cabinet paint for your cabinet. If its a paint like Advance by Benjamin Moore, you can also use that on your trim. Its hard to say, what color is best for your vanity, but, if you post pictures, you may get a better answer.

Ok....clearly my thought that I could make all paints work everywhere was a nonstarter. Becuase I am getting ready to sell, I was wondering if I could get away with fewer cans of paint. I didn't realize that there was specific cabinet paint (real non-DIYer here). I will start there and use the leftover on some of my trim.

Thanks so much for taking the time to point me in the right direction. Sounds like it ia YES for a shade of white ...but it is important that it is cabinet paint.

Thanks for everyone's advice. I'm going to go to the granite fabricator on Thursday. The person I spoke to on the phone warned me that they don't have a lot of quartz remnants and that they get snatched up fairly quickly when they do, so I will have a look around at the granites as well. I know I won't find all white granite, but maybe something will tickle my fancy. I now have a new problem. The person I spoke to at the fabricator is concerned about the narrowness of the vanity. It's only 17.5 in. deep, the current top is 18 in. deep. She said between the backsplash and the faucet hole cut outs, that I will only have 12.75 in for my desired undermount sink. As you see, right now it's a drop in. I don't want to do a drop in with real stone, so I have been scouring the internet for small undermount sinks. I posted this question on the bathroom forum, but do any of you have any experience with either of these sinks or any other sinks for a narrow vanity? DH sprayed the Advance for all the trim and I think he mentioned it went on a bit different but he didn't have any complaints. I think he thinned it with floetrol, just like he did when we used Sherwin Williams ProClassic for our other trim. We just hired a painter to paint the trim and doors in the remaining bedrooms and 1 additional bathroom because DH doesn't have time to finish those rooms. The painter is brushing instead of spraying and he said he really likes the Advance. It looks great - not as perfect as DH's sprayed on finish but DH also takes 3 times longer to finish because he's such a perfectionist :)

I would replace both counters and sinks. The sinks do not match so even if you do (sort of) match the brown counter they will not look like they go together.
