Please Help with Mirrors in Master Bath.
Comments (2)I cannot tell you what to do, but the off center location of the light fixture needs to be changed. Am I understanding that you intend to remove them and put something on the mirror itself? One of your tall cabs has molding at the top. The other one does not. Can you add the molding to the cab? And, you have the light above one sink but nothing above the second sink, and then you have the vanity area with the light above it. I would try to make the sink/mirror/lights exactly alike, and maybe have a different light down lower for the low vanity area. Make it more usable for make up and grooming, a smaller mirror with magnification on one side. That area needs some weight and presence. BTW, is there a THIRD cab sitting on the counter or at the end of the counter top? If so, does IT have the molding at the top? With the molding, you could also put an up light or wall wash light which would serve to give a taller look to the bath, and make it really emphasize the height of the ceiling and the angles too. I'd do that instead of thinking a potted plant, which would at best be short lived. Just my two cents. Mirrors the height (or generally so) of the tall cabs would be totally high enough....See MoreNeed mirror for master bathroom
Comments (13)woodlands,,,go to pinterest and search "how to frame a bathroom mirror". lots of ideas. for cheap, purchase some baseboard molding, have it cut to fit the mirror w/45 degree corners, glue/nail and paint. you could actually do this on the wall at the very edge of the mirror. you really don't need to purchase a kit. for less than $20, you could get it all yourself at Lowes or HD. You could even ask them to cut it for you. or for 25 bucks or so, get some pine or fir 1X3 or 1x4, cut to fit and stain and glue into place...See MoreLED lighted mirrors in master bath

Comments (6)I put bright tube sconces above each medicine cabinet because my design changed in the years between buying the lights and installing them. Originally, they were supposed to go one on either side of the two med cabs, which were going to be very close together, side-by-side. If I wore makeup, the lighting at my mirrors would not be ideal. I do believe that the designer-types here are right when they say that mirrors need side sconces. My lights project the light out into the room and do not really create shadows. But they do not really give even light on the face. Luckily, my DH says that he does not notice this for shaving! Your down lights will create shadows under every protrusion on the face - brow ridge, nose, and hair. I do love the look of these lights, but I think they are better mounted like this in a laundry or above a potting sink....See MoreLeslie
