I had last bloom on Undercurrent today, Zuzu’s treasure is finishing up this week.
First bloom ever today on Humungosaur and first blooms this week on Lovely Miss Laucious.
Pizza Crust is getting started. The wonky weather hasn’t bothered it at all, loaded with buds.
A late blooming noid I got from Laura started yesterday.

Comments (12)Nice blooms! Its spring! We had 89 degrees yesterday with tornado warnings. We got hail in the afternoon then a nice rainbow. Tonight is dropping down to 27, I think its a record low for April, one of those nice surprises. The wind is ferocious most days. Back to 62 tomorrow, 78 on Saturday. Its the Spring Roller Coaster Ride when weather is exciting. I just came in from covering some young plants just in case. Things are well underway down here since its been in the 70's & 80's during the days for some time. The ground is warm so hopefully its a 3 to 4 hour early morning freeze only & won't do a lot of damage. Many perennials are leafed out pretty thick, some are forming buds, others are still dormant or just starting. Warm season grasses are coming along. People all over town are rushing around finding anything handy to cover plants they recently set in & nursery's are battening down the hatches to save blooms, putting plastic back on greenhouses, whisking in plants off outdoor shelves. I imagine some fruit trees will take a hit, many trees are done but some are still in bloom. The redbuds just finished up. Bradford pears didn't even make a showing this year, weird, just leaves with hardly any blooms, usually its white everywhere since they were so over planted. Comments (16)Maryl, These were planted last year and the seeds came up this year. Most of them were seeds my neighbor had collected from her blooms the year before. They are prolific self sowers, and do their own winter sowing (in spades!) as you can see. I don't think you would call them perennials, just self re-seeders. Thanks, Mantis. I love that rose. Jean and Lisa. That vine is about four or five years old. I bought it and it was beautiful the first year, but I left it out, and it froze, and I assumed died that winter. In the spring, it went into the compost pile and I noticed green a few weeks later on it; a lot of new shoots, so I pulled it out and planted it and it bloomed beautifully that spring. It goes in the green house each winter after that...if it wanted to live that much, it deserved help. It always a lovely vine even when I put it in the green house in the late fall, and doesn't go dormant unless I withhold water. Lisa, I have the red honeysuckle and this Mandavella, but most vines I have had tend to start growing rampantly and are tough to confine, so I don't do many...but there is a stephanotis vine in the greenhouse that was bought it as a twig, (you know those little two inch cube pots) and it is huge now, and it doesn't like being anywhere else, but the greenhouse, It bloomed beautifully this year (first bloom season) Go figure. Comments (13)Haha, Mantis! Obviously not August Groom but August Wedding (can’t have one without the other, though!!) I corrected it on the post. It is more yellow on this rebloom cycle. Some of my Pierce daylilies multiply very well while others do not. I have not made notes on low bud count so can’t answer that definitively. I assume that means I have not been unhappy with bud count!! Nancy, I like this compact look on the zinnias also. I hope to find these next year if they don’t reseed.
