That rose is truely gorgeous. I knew those were more of your volunterr zinnias as soon as I saw the first picture. Even easier to see what they are in the second picture. I am still amazed at the volunter zinnias that you get.

I see your iris in that bed are sort of in a random pattern. Mine are all planted lined up in a row like good little soldiers. I couldn't manage them unless they were in rows.

I love both of the daylily blooms. So lovely! And wonderful that you are getting some much needed rain.

Were those the Profusion series of Zinnias that have re-seeded to well? My neighbor insisted her batch of them were perennial instead of annual because they kept coming up each year.-LOL. Nice daylilies and beautiful rose....Maryl

Isn't it wonderful to get some of that rain from the tropical storm? We had a bit of rain last night and some more at midday. Golly Galore and Linda Beck have been real troopers in your garden. They are both beautiful, as are those roses!

Thanks everyone for looking. Golly Galore was a bonus from the Shooters at Marietta. It has been a beautiful bloomer this year. The blooms are large, several bloom at one, and it has that bitone effect.

Linda Beck was a blooer, instant rebloomer, rebloom again and then this last "one more time" rebloom scape.I am very happy with that one.

The zinnias have been extremely prolific self sowers. I will contain them more next year than this year, but they are still giving a lot of bloom to my garden.

I am hoping the rain and the lower temps will be a boon for the roses, but next year, these old Garden roses should really be showing out if this year is any indication of what I might expect from them.

Avedon, we are supposed to get some of the rain, but, in comparison with the area around, we are mainly getting occasional light sprinkles at this time. Tomorrow is supposed to be the heaviest day. But the temp has been in the 70s which is delightful in itself. The next one looks like it might be headed to the Texas coast.

I knew those was Zinnia babies the minute I seen your picture and not weeds.I have a bunch of babies coming up in different places, too.,, LOve LINDA BECK its gorgeous. The mandevilla vine is real; pretty, too.Thats the color I wanted this year too, but, seems every one had the Red and the white ones,and I dont find they do as good as that deep pink one does.

I like your vine. I got a 'Candy Corn' vine this summer and the hummers love it, but the flowers are very small. I'm not even sure if they will survive the cold winters-it just looked fun.

These were planted last year and the seeds came up this year. Most of them were seeds my neighbor had collected from her blooms the year before. They are prolific self sowers, and do their own winter sowing (in spades!) as you can see. I don't think you would call them perennials, just self re-seeders.

Jean and Lisa. That vine is about four or five years old. I bought it and it was beautiful the first year, but I left it out, and it froze, and I assumed died that winter. In the spring, it went into the compost pile and I noticed green a few weeks later on it; a lot of new shoots, so I pulled it out and planted it and it bloomed beautifully that spring. It goes in the green house each winter after that...if it wanted to live that much, it deserved help. It always a lovely vine even when I put it in the green house in the late fall, and doesn't go dormant unless I withhold water.

Lisa, I have the red honeysuckle and this Mandavella, but most vines I have had tend to start growing rampantly and are tough to confine, so I don't do many...but there is a stephanotis vine in the greenhouse that was bought it as a twig, (you know those little two inch cube pots) and it is huge now, and it doesn't like being anywhere else, but the greenhouse, It bloomed beautifully this year (first bloom season) Go figure. I really don't know how to really treat it.

Your daylilies are beautiful!
I got a mandevilla last year on a clearance rack & thought it bloomed pretty well. I stuck it in the garage overwinter & it lived all winter, then I put it outside in the spring. Everything that had been green died back so I gave up on it. Then one day I saw a green shoot so I fertilized it & put it in the sun, it has really bloomed this year. I probably need to put it in a bigger pot.
