Ideas to update small bathroom?

Hi - I have a super small bathroom that hasnt been updated in decades.

Want to go for a nice clean modern look with some splash of color.

Would love any ideas?

A dozen people could post what they'd do with your room, all would be different, but we have no clue what you like, what the rest of your home is like, what your budget is, etc. You'd get a much more personalized inspiration if you peruse the million bathroom pics posted on houzz and pinterest and via google and find some that appeal to you. Then, if you find one you'd like to use as inspiration, post it here for critique and suggestions.

I have a tiny three piece powder room. It was adequate enough so we decided to just spend on new tile, lighting, paint, curtain and sink. The new lighting made the biggest difference of all.

I would replace both counters and sinks. The sinks do not match so even if you do (sort of) match the brown counter they will not look like they go together.

I think if you want to make this bathroom modern, you're going to have to gut it. sorry. but the tub and tile are very retro cool, and you said your style is modern/traditional. I think with the right accessories, you could make a retro bath work with that. 1. remove the tub glass and frame. there are hole patch kits for the tiles. install a shower curtain. 2. remove and/or replace the wall cabinet, mirror, switch plate and toilet shelf. maybe the towel bar too (but personally I like it). 3. get a handy friend to help you swap out faucets, light fixtures, etc. maybe even a new sink with a small cabinet. 4. finally, give the room a really deep scrubbing, repair any damage, paint, and renew the caulk. buy new towels, rugs, artwork, etc. I suggest a black and white theme to go with the black tile accents. all of this would be very cost effective (maybe around 1k or so, depending on what brands you choose).

Thankyou for the advice.. . . it's nice to have some constructive feed back. we have already replaced the floor under the tub ( which ironically was the only thing not damaged by water- but it was very clearly worked on at some point and we had to redo the plumbing as the pipe for the hot water was literally bowed out with pressure from the sag I guess. I was glad that we did move it because that would have ruined all the work we are putting in. I did see there are "cheap" tubs to be had and that might just be the way to go . I need to do some research because currently the tub is one unit and I don't think we want to deal with tiling the wall so I want to find the right style for the surround and see how much we would realistically be looking at. Everything I touch has a huge pricetag but I find with a little work I am able to find ways around that- for example my husband is building the vanity to make the price tag on the out of budget sink fit in. I'm sure we can do something someplace to afford the tub :) I am trying to have a " we have come this far" attitude about this .

I had several of my bathrooms renovated a few years ago. I chose Bertch USA vanities: sage colored ones for my upstairs bathrooms and a charcoal colored one for my downstairs bathroom / laundryroom. They are made in the USA, are high quality, and have soft closed drawers. Check out their website! I purchased remnant quartz pieces from a local stone yard for the vanity tops. I chose classic Minka Lavery pivot mirrors (great quality). I had Italian Energie Kerr porcelain wood look tile flooring installed, water resistant. Best of luck in your renovation.
