paint color advice needed:) (SW Shiitake or Accessible Beige)
I’m getting ready to paint my main level (ceilings & walls and am looking for a warm neutral. I’m driving everyone in the family nuts! I hope y’all can help.
I need something that will work with the current trim/moldings which is SW Creamy. Cabinets are BM White Dove The island/pantry door is SW urbane bronze. Currently ceilings/walls are SW Nomadic desert (HATE the dark ceilings).
The house has a ton of windows/trim so there is a lot of light. The trim looks white to me and I’d like to keep it that way so I don’t want a color that will make the creamy trim look yellow or dingy. Also, the floors have to stay...I don't love them so I don't want a color to make the floors stand out.
I'm leaning towards SW Shiitake or accessible beige for the walls and white duck for the ceilings....but open to any suggestions. Just want something to update the space...greige, taupe or beige works.
Lots of trim/moldings all painted SW Creamy. Would like a lighter ceiling. SW White Duck?

Comments (14)I personally think it is a mistake to only think in terms of the one area. Remember, when a door is opened, its color shows into that other area. Also, that whole room becomes visible from some viewpoint simultaneously with the other area. Whatever the white chosen, makes sure it is agreeable with other color choices in the house. Using a common woodwork color will simplify your life, and ultimately lower your painter's estimate for your job. Also keep in mind that many of the "clear" white colors contain little or no lamp black or raw umber. Comments (20)I would never recommend a specific color in anyone else's home or office and that's why I never do :-) Color is affected by everything from the orientation of the room to the height of the ceilings, the flooring, amount of fenestration, type of overhead lighting and wattage of lamps, and your location's latitude. It's a complete mystery to me how people can pick a color off a chip or use a paint because someone else has it in his or her home. Perceived undertones are just as affected by all of the above. Comments (53)Help! We are re-doing our kitchen and I need to choose a cabinet color for my maple cabinets. Our home is the Tuscan style from the early 2000’s, so I do want to go with a warmer color. My walls are SW divine white. I like a bit of a darker beige or cream than Divine white to offset the lighter LRV of 72. Has anyone tried SW Natural Linen, BM Natural linen, BM Clay Beige, BM White Sand for cabinets? Also was thinking of Accessible Beige, but afraid it will be too gray. My kitchen is north facing, with minimal light. Our floors are noche travertine. I used Jogging Path for walls.
