Do you use a brush or a cloth

to clean your toilets? I have used a brush for years but have switched to a cloth as I find it does a better job getting the gunk under the rim off.

Brush overall but under the rim is cleaned with paper towel. Not hard to spot a toilet cleaned with brush only!

Brush the bowl, rag the rest.

I keep an old toothbrush which I identify by plastic wrap around the handle to clean around the seat hinges.

My 30% shade goes up in April on the south. Then, in June, the 30% goes to the north and the 50% shade goes onto the south side. By October, it all comes off. Plants that produce something not from fruiting flowers- i.e. carrots, cabbage, lettuce, need less light than those that produce true fruit- pepper, tomato cuc, eggplant. These latter ones need basically full sun to produce a good crop. Also, the variety you grow is very important. Some vegetable varieties are photoperiodic, meaning they produce best in either short or long day (sun light period). Bubble-wrap will significantly reduce the light into the greenhouse, making the fruit-set type of vegetables hard to grow. Optimum (best yield) temps for fruiting crops are: tom, cuc, pepper, lettuce- 65 deg. night. In the day: tom and cuc= 80, pepper= 75 and lettuce= 70 degrees.

Thanks, Ted :) That is one sturdy trellis! I followed your link and enjoyed what you wrote about your soil, etc. Kind of sounds like we are gardening similarly. I LOOSELY follow the SF thing. Meaning I plant closer than recommended but I find the SF technique to be too complicated. I have 3- 3 X 12 foot beds with cinder blocks stacked two high. I used regular dirt that I purchased from a yard (24 cubic yards so far - but the last bit is piled up and waiting for me to finish my beds. Most of the first load went into a retaining wall.) and added manure and compost. It's just one big crap shoot for me right now but I'm having fun experimenting. Loved seeing your pics. What kind of dust cloth do you use?

I use swiffer and a damp, almost dry microfiber cloth. I do not use and kind of spray as they cause a build up on the funiture.

What kind of brush do you use to vacuum/clean your sofa with?

I have an Oreck hand held, and a one gal shop vac. The soft brush attachments for both are interchangeable, the shop vac brand attachments available at most hardware stores. And both have vacuum bags to collect dust so I use them often on throw pillows, upholstered furniture. My former house had a whole house air cleaner, this one does not and I assume as much dust collects on upholstered furniture as on the table tops, arms and backs of leather furniture ;-)

Both. Each does a specific part. Brush for lower bowl. Then a cloth to wipe off top of tank and add a powdered cleaner to the cloth and scrub under the rim. Be careful to not flush the cloth as I once did.

Clorox Toilet Wand. It is basically a scrubbing pad with toilet bowl cleaner in it on a wand. Your hands touch nothing. It is sparkling clean and smells fresh. Does a great job!

I have 6 bathrooms & a KaBoom system in ALL 6. I rarely have to use a brush to clean...maybe once a year. Then a cloth for dusting the tank top....paper towel that gets thrown away for anything else.

That kaboom stuff sounds nasty...must contain lye or some other caustic....

Plumber told me he used Dawn to clean his toilets. I keep a bottle in the bathroom now just for that. Put some in scrub it around inside, let it sit as long as possible. Scrub again and flush.

No 'toilet brush'. Rag with Bon Ami. I avoid abrasive scouring powders. Scrub brush and rag for under the rim. I avoid 'landfill' items for dusting or cleaning, but I do like the blue Lysol product that hangs over the rim on a plastic holder. One lasts for months here.

Brush for the inside, rags/paper towels for the outside. Any tough stains on the inside get scrubbed with old scrubby sponges, which are them thrown away. I like Lime Away Gel for mineral stains.

I use a brush with a little protrusion on the top that gets up under the lip where the water comes out into the bowl with usually Great Value brand toilet cleaner. I use antibacterial Windex spray on the seat and outside of the toilet with paper towels.
