Advice needed for exterior house paint

We are painting our SW Florida house and seeking opinions on color. The house currently reads creamy off-white & a bit yellow. I like a fresh white house but it can’t be too stark.

The roof has dark pigments and isn’t much different than this color, but it is being cleaned this week. The driveway pavers have been cleaned since this picture but it gives an idea of the color.

The ’trim bands’ - not sure to just paint the bands the same color or a few shades different than the main house. Windows are a dark bronze and are staying.

Exposure here is SW and a lot of sun.

I was thinking SW Alabaster house & soffits with SW Egret trim bands. Not sure about the front door.

Suggestions on main house color, trim and front door?

do you have an HOA color restriction?

do you want a plain creamy white w/a slighly darker creamy color trim? or would like a bit of contrast?

I like the brighter whites w/a darker trim

Or, would you rather have a white trim/pop outs, and a darker stucco?

since you're in Florida, I'd prob do away w/the dull hedges and bring in some color w/the landscape.

Is that the color of your roof or is it due for a cleaning? Get that done first.

Here’s the colors you’re considering, and a photo of a color scheme that has a bit more contrast. It’s such a stately house. What a beauty!

Groveraxle, thank you so much for making those different color combinations. Your work made me realize I don't like the initial color scheme I had in mind (navy and cedar and white). The funny thing is that the combo you made with green on top looks almost exactly like my house's neighborhood twin (it is located a mile or so from my house). I really like the gray combination you made. Yikes!!! Beverly is SO right! Paint it White!!! You may think it is boring but it will look stunning once you get rid of that driveway and plant some really tall palm trees! A few palm tree near the pool will not block the sun and add a lot to this homes exterior. The white angular shape against the blue sky and green foliage is anything but boring!!!

I'm not a fan of painting brick as it turns a no maintenance product into a long term maintenance issue. The brick seems to have more browns than grays in it but the roof is gray. You need to find a color that marries the two. Something in the taupe family would work. Also, a couple of other things. If you plan on keeping shutters I would switch to a wider shutter that is correctly sized for you windows. The current ones are too narrow. Also, the area without a railing in front of the door needs to have one installed. Building codes require them if the change in elevation is more than 30", which yours definitely is. @BeverlyFLADeziner The roof is being cleaned this week but the guy said our roof has a dark pigment so it won’t be very different. The driveway was cleaned last week.

let the textures and profiles be the 'accent'

I don’t have any info on the photo I posted. Taupe Tone is close, but a bit too dark.

Someone colormatched that scene and uploaded to the SW site:

They look like pretty close matches. The original photo was in BHG magazine, but they didn’t give the colors.

I like the bright white but not sure with the roof and driveway it will work. Since it’s currently creamy I was thinking warm white.

I have a similar home like yours, but redid the roof w/charcoal cement tiles. I used Behr Swiss Coffee and BM Wrought Iron

(ignore my overgrown landscape. this was taken 2 years ago)

I don't think it's overly bright. I don't like the creamy whites because they tend to look too yellow/tan

make sure to grab some samples and paint them on your stucco so you can see how they look.

@Beth H. : I read a lot about SW Alabaster and have seen it on other homes and it’s not creamy (yellow) at all on the homes I’ve seen. Love your roof.

then grab a sample of that one, swiss coffee (I like behr, but BM is nice too) and some of the others.

paint a large swatch and look at it throughout the day.

Thank you for your help. Your house is beautiful & you have incredible speed and talent at this.

In my house, which trim parts are you saying go dark contrast? Just the peachy color trim bands at the base and around the entry pillar? Might that look like a racing stripe - that’s why I was thinking subtle varation of the trim bands? P.S. we have no gutters.

I see what you mean.

I'd start w/the fascia and maybe the upper trim piece shown here, an on top of that fence in the other pic

for the lower one, do it the same as the stucco, or go a shade darker or lighter than the stucco, depending on which colors you choose.

for example, take the trio in the bottom right. gray owl stucco, amherst for the lower trim, kendall charcoal for all the trim I have marked in red. or just start w/the roofline and see how it looks.

It's very simple to get some samples and just do one portion to see how it looks.

That's what I did with mine. I played around w/colors on the short fence w/the stone. I used a dark color and a light platinum color (I wished I had used the charcoal at the roof line but I thought the roof tiles were going to be a lot darker.)
