What color rug and sofa for my living room?
Comments (6)Beautiful room. I can see many colors doing great here. Tan, sand, camel, red, pale pink, emerald, royal blue, aubergine, butter yellow, light gray.. Black too-if you prefer something leggy and visually light. I agree-it'd be easier to tie the choice of the sofa with your other color choices, as in a rug you love. Or, if not much there yet-pick the sofa in the color that speaks to you the most. And go from there. That's potentially-less successful way, but that's what I did when I did not know better, and also didn't have what to sit on:) and I was pretty happy with the results. (truth to be told-still can't find this rug..)) Colorful sofas are much easier to work into the different color schemes, than it seems. Even when you repaint in, say, several years-most of the colors will still work. Just make sure you really love that color....See MoreNeed Help Determining What Color Couch to Put in New Living Room
Comments (4)I don't know why but I remembered this saying by somebody: "When in doubt, go with chartreuse" ))) Cream would work..if leather-tan would look nice.. If you like colors of autumn-chances are you'll continue to like them..look for inspiration pictures with similar colors..can be very helpful to figure out the pallette. Even if you repaint-chances are you ll still go for something warm and enveloping..so whatever you pick in furniture would still work against different background. If you're not sure that's another thing. But most people have the general direction towards which they lean..preference for warmer colors(or rather shades) vs cooler..cleaner vs muddier..you can like all of them of course but say use the ones you lean to less as accents. Congratulations on your new house! seems a very comfortable one....See MoreWhat colour sofa for living room... and other ideas?
Comments (18)What about a medium warm grey, which would work well with walls, fireplace and hopefully your chairs (not sure if they are the same color). Add warm toned textured cushions. (I wouldn't use dark brown as the two chairs are already dark enough in room.) You had asked for overall ideas for room, hope some of these help. Given you have centered couch to fireplace, it is off centre on wall. What do you think of a couch or sectional in front of window with a table/lamp on one end and a floor lamp on the other. This will also help fill the empty corner near fireplace On the wall as you enter, add a console and art Place your two chairs facing window. Adding a mantle would be great Linen like drapes (@Ikea) would warm up the space I’d change the art over the table next to fireplace and add pottery on the table Add a large basket on the floor next to fireplace. I have the one below and it’s large and well made...See Morewhat color for sofa slip cover and living room rug?
Comments (9)I‘d start with the slipcover, as they are not easy to find regarding decent fabric quality, size and shape. Suggest blue, white or green and add cushions that complement drapes. I‘d skip a brown rug and wait until you decide on color scheme. Consider your taste/comfort with mixing patterns; see above. Use a textured rug to make it easier to coordinate around and if your preference is a solid....See Moreffpalms
