A bright colored door maybe. Just the door would be fine, not the sidelites

I think it looks fine. In my opinion it would look better if everything but the shutters was the same color. You could bring some color to the porch with pillows for your chairs and large planters.

I would remove the shutters. Paint the door a mustard yellow. Then, add plants/flowers/bushes to your landscape, and colorful pots with flowers on your porch. Think color/texture/size/shape variation. Beefier, white posts would also help ground the home.

Agree with something brighter for the door and beefed up white posts. Would remove the shutters from the large window.

Agree with all the suggestions. This pic shows house in shadow - is it always in shadow as north facing? If yes & if you do paint front door, consider a lighter bright color, not a deep, darker color - to avoid cave like look. Landscaping up the side of driveway & along front of porch will add immediate wow as will adding color to porch with large white pots filled with colors. Beefed up white porch posts - yes!

Addressing landscaping would help, I think. Put some large light colored ceramic planters on both sides of your door and plant with colors that pop. I’d also make the porch pillars a lot more substantial and paint white.

I agree address your columns. I would beef them up and paint them white.

I agree remove your shutters and beef up your windows with white molding if you have the room.

I agree with getting ceramic pots. I would go red, cranberry, or black and fill them with colorful flowers.

I would remove all the vestigial shutters, beef up and paint the columns and paint the door in your favorite bright citrus color. Then tackle landscaping.

It appears that the shutter on the picture window are slightly recessed into the brick? The brick sill appears to extend underneath them.

I like the house with the lighter shutters better and why I do is because it balances the bottom to the top it makes an up here heavy

I like the shutter color you have. I do agree, the shutters shouldnt be on the picture window. I dont like them lighter at all. I also agree the door needs a nice bright color, just the door itself, but not yellow. Dont second guess, yourself, the house looks very nice.

I don't mind the dark color but those posts need to be thicker. if you wrap them in a white vinyl, it might look better. or, get thicker wood posts.

Those aren’t shutters. They’re strips.

Mount appropriately-sized shutters and paint them a very light color.

Is the house now painted gray? Gray is a very dull color.

The shutters are too narrow for the windows and the large windups shouldn’t have shutters at all
