OT: Rain Rain go away.....
Comments (8)Awe poor fishies. I was planting my water hawthorne a little while ago and saw my koi finally. He was hiding in the leaves in the bottom of the pond. This is the coolest plant. It blooms in the winter. I broke the dang bloom off when I was planting it though. Cant' find much info about it but its neat....See MoreRain, rain, go away- come again in a month
Comments (11)Okay, maybe I am lucky. Or maybe work is just interfering with my gardening. Hmmmmmm. Maybe I should be complaining about that. It would be nice to take a sick day and stay home to plant, but I live a few blocks from work. They probably would frown. I must admit that my plants are looking wonderful. Some are a bit on the yellow side. I don't know if it's lack of sun or if the rain that has washed away all of the nutrients. I still am luckier than the farmers who can't get their crops in. We have had hail only once, but it was soft enough so there was no damage. Alot of my plants were planted in the mud. I'm going to hate mulching because in between all of the rows in the veggie garden are paths that are quite packed. The weeds like the rain as well. Oh well. Life is such. Comments (4)I lost a newly platned silvermound artemesia and another is looking pretty sad. My rudbeckias have a bad case of powdery mildew. The verbena in the containers on my front porch looks pathetic, My tomatoes however are very happy since I planted them in an Earthbox which has that plastic cover so they don't get too much water. They are huge and loaded with tomatoes. Oh and some of the wooly thyme I planted in my new flagsotne walkway looks pretty sad. Of course all the plants that I am having trouble with are the ones I purchased at places that don't offer a guarantee. That is always my luck....See MoreOT Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!!!
Comments (2)We've been having rain every day for about the same amount of time that you have, but we're not over the drought yet. It hasn't been raining all day long in our area so the water table is still low. DD works 7 miles from my house and it rains there more than it does at my house. Seems the rain stops just before it gets to the curve south of our house. @:) DH's little water hole is full but the jungle isn't flooded. When the jungle is flooded and there's standing water in the 'sunken garden' then we know we've had enough rain. I know I keep talking about our jungle....should post a picture of it so you'd know what I'm talking about. Daytona Raceway was flooded yesterday....don't know about any races except for the Indy 500 today. Sharon...See Morelilykate7a
