I took advantage of the great weather today. It is a bit breezy and not as warm as yesterday but I opened up any milk jug that had sprouts so they could "harden up" and I took some of the ones that had just a few seedlings showing and transplanted them into 4 in. nursery pots. I've gathered what I have left to plant out and if temperatures drop tonight, I'll put them in the garage and bring them back out tomorrow. We have had so much rain that so many of them look so spindley. I pinched the blue flax back and that about killed me to do that. If weather is again nice like 60 and above, I'll work on planting some more out tomorrow. Can the wintersown seedlings survive 44-47 degrees?

Kasem, I wish I could send you some of the rain we have experienced here. Dec was the wettest on record for us. Shabosbaby, We went down to -22c last night. We had a little bit of snow but I think we will see what you are sending our way in a few days. The snow has not slowed our pack down at all and the kitten that arrived from Florida is just in awe of the white stuff. lol He about knocked himself out on the front window trying to catch all them snowflakes. We have been enjoying milder temps here. Milder to us is anything above freezing but we have been in the 40's and it did rain here last night. A lot of snow has melted but we still have areas where it will be at least a month before it melts all the way down. I can now see the ground in some spots and some of my plant markers. However, it is suppose to be a rainy weekend and may have some snow showers mixed in. At least the furnace isn't running 24 hours a day as the sun really makes a difference. A slow melt is better than a complete washout. Take it easy with the weeding and don't over do it. Thought you might enjoy this cartoon my daughter posted for me.

I had lots I didn't get to plant yet too. It actually didn't rain here yesterday it was a nice day but got cold last nite. It is 58 rite now. This is almost July. Potatoes look the best. Cabbage and broccoli are making okay heads I guess, but I feel they are growing so slow but that is due to late frosts and not enough sunshine. I can only get a handful of carrots to come up I'm sure the seed got washed away. Beans grow ing slow. Tomatoes growing slow. Peppers I only have one kind doing anything, that is Hungarian black they have beautiful purple flowers. Other peppers are same size as when I transplanted them. Eggplants too. I planted lots of dwarf tomatoes in strategies and they look okay. Okra are tiny not gonna do nothing. Strawberry are good but now I'm discovering I have some Asian spotted fly and I think it is in my raspberries too. My blueberries look good have unripe berries. Everything is late. Usually by now id have a ton of squash and zukes and cukes. These plants are tiny. Fingers crossed for good warm weather with normal rain fall, destructive winds, hail, and storms to stop. Anyone know a good recipe for grass cuz that's mostly all that's growing. I guess I'll cook it on my compost pile.
