Just painted our former 3rd bedroom as we (my DD and I) transformed it into a Study/Office for DH. He was very surprised when he returned from his week in New York! We painted F&B Pigeon, kept the bookshelves and rug. Hope to update more later. Here is a very blue shot of Pigeon just inside the door. And here is the way it looks when you walk in the room... And the chair corner when the light is on or sun is shining... For the Purists out there.....I had my dealer mix up the Benjamin Moore formula for Pigeon in their own paint. So, no, it's not really F&B. Although, it is the color I wanted! I have the old recliner in there still, also working on some curtains, and keeping the antique persian rug........maybe some wood flooring eventually. Pigeon looks green/blue, sometimes blue/green, sometimes gray/green. It's a very nice soothing office color. Red

Hey Red! I tried BM Silver Fox in my kitchen and w/ it's low light and silver small appliances it looked to purple to me. So sad! Wait till you see what's going on my LR walls.... I've lived w/ the Revere Pewter sample in it for almost a year now and I finally made a decision. I'm sorry that the SW Requisite Gray didn't work - I'm happy to hear that you think it's a beautiful color though. I am actually re-painting our MBR Requisite Gray after somebody e-mailed me asking to use a pic of our MBR on a web-site. I panicked - how could I say yes? Was it the picture from when it was blue, blue, gray, green, white, blue or what?! Turned out it was the pic from when it was Requisite Gray. I sighed and my heart fluttered when I saw the pic all over again so I decided to do it again and leave it. I peeked at the Gray Owl more than once for DD's room. Good louck w/ your decision! Oh! I'm currently looking at BM Kendall Charcoal for a kitchen built in (to look like furniture) and Chelsea Gray or something for the upper portion of DR w/ SW Highland White below. But who knows - last week th eupper portion was going to be BM Polo Blue and before that MS Thunderhead (a gray).

I've never worked with F&B paints -- I have the paint deck (not really -- a pamphlet, maybe?) but there isn't a dealer in our state and I've been able to get what I want with other paints so ... that's my disclosure. But I totally know what you mean about having a vanilla house and wanting to give it character. Ours is a 1997 b-i-g house in a planned community -- love the neighborhood, the schools, and have made the house as "ours" as it can be. We had our textured walls smoothcoated: drywallers did it and it looks and feels like plaster because that's essentially what it is -- three coats of thin compound just put atop the textured finish. No sanding. Not messy. Just right. We also had miles of trim put up -- crown, skirting, picture frame, casing on some doors / windows (but not all). Just those have made a WORLD of difference! Everyone's lighting is different but I think the color you want for your walls is a really creamy white, with a lot of yellow in it. If you want and can afford to work with F&B then that's super -- more than half the battle is done. But you can also look at less expensive and perhaps more readily available lines. I'm keen on both Benjamin Moore and Pratt & Lambert. The trim throughout our house is BM's Calming Cream, which on the chip looks like a pale yellow but up everywhere it's the creamiest, dreamiest white. Love it and would use it again in a heartbeat. Calming Cream I know the color you like for your cabs, but have you also looked at BM's Paris Rain? Some of the pics of it online make it look rather green but in my real life (given the lighting conditions in this part of the continent) it is a beautiful, subtle grey-green, or green-grey. I have one color down, Cheyenne Green, on our mantle. I love it. I just love it. When I describe it I say "sludge green" and that's just right. It's really earthy, subtle. Perfect. Paris Rain Cheyenne Green For your trim could you go one or two shades darker than your wall color? I'll have to check my sample decks later to see if I can find a color, but I love that almost-taupe color with a creamy wall, like maybe midway between the cabinet green and the wall, but with no green in it. You're going to have so much fun!

My 2 cents. I'd skip Navajo white. I think every track home in San Diego (and probably beyond) was painted Navajo white in the 1980's. Every painted surface including doors and ceilings, including mine. I never liked it, but lived with it for years because it was just too much trouble and expense to repaint everything. Maybe that's why it's a big seller. Been kicking myself since because our paint match wood shutters also need to be refinished to match the white trim and doors we have now. To me the Navajo white has a greenish undertone and looks kind of dirty compared to other colors. Nicotine White is what it's disparaging called here. Can't tell you what to have only what you shouldn't and that would be 1980's track home Navajo White! I'm sure linen and a million other colors are better. When we repainted we went with Botony Beige fron Frazee. On the paint chip it looked slightely darker in tone, but on the walls it's not and it has a more neutral to warm base than the Navajo.
