Paint Design Dilemma

Please help with Exterior House Colors!

In interior PNW (Idaho), house faces East. Roof will eventually be updated. Thinking we’ll keep the body “white” (e.g. Benjamin Moore “White Dove”, “Paper Mache”, or “Deep in Thought”). Unsure of trim, possibly dark BM “Bucktrout Brown”, French Press”, or “Wenge” but I’m drawn to a lighter, “golden wood” BM “Kurkuma”, “Etruscan”.
House interior walls are BM “Dove “White” and trims are golden pine colors. I like the “farmhouse” or “Scandinavian” look…don’t want trendy. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks so much!

What color will the new roof be?

I see a lot of Scandinavian decor accounts on Instagram … if you’re on there, search some tags. Lots of inspiration there.

Beautiful house! I am too lazy to look up all those colors you named. I don’t care for the current gray and green combo, so I am sure whatever you choose it will look great.

Thank you for the feedback - MUCH Appreciated. - I'll check out the Garage Door windows. The Garage Door definitely needs painting! Yes FL - We are in SW FL - Near Sarasota. I'm thinking about SW Urbane Bronze for the gutters and possibly the siding. The siding I'm struggling with - SW Evening Shadow or SW Crushed Ice also 2 that seem to be recommended with Alabaster which is the 'safe' color choice for the body. Greek Villa (another thought) seems to have a slight pink undertone. Unfortunately you can't really see the front door, except when is the front porch area. But it's a sweet sitting area with a lot of potential. We also need new screening in that area and will go with the dark bronze to match the pool cage. This small area has siding, stucco and the door to figure out paint colors that will work together There is a slight grey/blue in the roof shingles which is why I thought that could work. But then again I'm spinning and looking for help and appreciate the advice! The landscaping also 30 years old so that's a project coming soon. Along with interior needs. The house is deceiving in size. Inside it opens into an split & open floor plan with cathedral ceilings.

I love it the way it is. Please no paint on those beautiful logs. No solid color stains that look just like paint either. Oil based semi transparent stains, would be the only thing I would ever use on those logs. If anything, I would restain the decks and railings a bit darker.

These comments are so helpful. THANK YOU! @Patricia Colwell, why not blue? @Jilly, I'm delighted you suggested Bella Blue. It looks beautiful in the picture you posted. And we have a cat named Bella, which would be a strange reason to paint our whole house Bella Blue, but still... ;) @cat_ky, thanks for the input on the reddish trim. It's funny, my husband hates it but I have liked it. (We bought the house this way so did not select the colors.) @Circus Peanut, thanks for these suggestions. I will check out Bunglehouse Blue on the visualizer. @Greta Greite, what would be your first choice? We don't want something completely neutral like tan or gray. Our street is very eclectic - lots of grays and tans but here and there there's a bright teal house, a dark red house, a yellow house, etc. @Angela Tollefson, I'm excited to check out Newburg Green. I would've been misled by the "green" in the title (just like "Gentleman's Gray" is actually blue, it seems). @Sabrina Alfin, I love the ideas about boxing out the posts. The paint altogether came off of the cedar as it is, so it's only a matter of time before that happens once we repaint. Thank you, all! And if others have more ideas, too, I'm happy to hear them. I am OBSESSED with paint colors right now.

In settings like yours i always like more natural house colors from nature…like sage green…so that your home blends in with all the natural beauty…rather than draw the eye to compete with it…for the same reasons… the trim …in a color like the deck …will create a more natural flow with the natural wood finishes you feature in the interior….which i think is perfect in white and wood finishes

I'd go with a trim slightly darker than the color of your decking (leaning toward a green undertone), and when you replace the shingles look at something in the driftwood family.

Very nice house. The house itself looks a bit Scandinavian. I would do a google search for colors for a Scandinavian house, and see if you find anything you like there.

White/off-white is nice decision. You can go with dark trim or white.

I like the “weekend getaway” a lot…it is hard to say about the trim ….. so to start I would paint it all in the green color… waiting to see if a contrasting color will be needed… the deck ..railing …steps … and lattice could be another color… if you add another color there …you may want doing just the roofline trim to match those features…generally speaking I do think white trims are more appropriate in urban settings.. on more conventional style homes…in the country settings decks and railing fare better if unpainted adding waterproof protection as needed over time …another feature we really appreciate in our country home is a pergola built over the outdoor seating area…which we cover with shade cloth in the summer to make the space more comfortable for outdoor living.., as you can see we also have wisteria growing on the same framework
