Best white subway tile to go with Sherwin Williams Pure White 7005
Comments (10)Amy Glasscock, yes, I have samples of both, and I can go to Lowe's today and get whatever they have. Do you know if the Daltile told by tile stores and the Daltile sold by Lowes or Home Depot are different? I know many products are a different quality in HD/Lowes but though tile would be the same but maybe not. Becky H, the Cloe is beautiful as is your quartz, I'm sure your kitchen will be beautiful. BeverlyFLADeziner, I had known that at one point but had forgotten so thank you for reminding me. Lyn Nielson, good advice about the dye lot, I will do that. I'm kind of dreading those things that I don't notice now but will eventually and once I see it, I can't unsee it and it will bug me! Thank you all for taking the time to reply. Comments (10)I have stainless smaller subway tiles with a light gray grout, white counters and white cabinets. My floors are porcelain wood look and sound pretty much like yours in color. I like the look of the stainless because there isn't a lot of it in the kitchen. I chose Whirlpool white ice for all my appliances and it is just the larger handles which are stainless. That said, I was standing in my kitchen thinking that I wish I had run the counters right up and not done a decorative backsplash. It is a more seamless look, but in addition, easier to clean. I don't think you will make a mistake doing it that way. Comments (6)The first house that I bought had pure white trim, ceilings, and cabinets. At the time, I had no idea there were so many shades of white. I figured you went to the store and bought white paint. I would've never guessed that it was anything other than what I would consider plain white. Now I've done my own looking through paint colors and I've seen how many different shades of white there are. Because I've had pure white in every conceivable room placement (N/S/W/E) and it all looked white to me, we used it in our new build, with rooms facing all directions. Still looks white. Never has it ever looked yellow to me. I imagine that the yellowness that you are seeing might be due to what's next to it/reflecting on it, not the paint itself. TL;DR I would go with pure white....See MoreWhich Behr paint color is the best match for SherwinWilliams PureWhite
Comments (8)I am so grateful for all of the many helpful comments, thank you! Toni and Home Reborn, I agree with the suggestion to bring the paint chip to HD to match. Choe, thanks for suggesting Lori, so grateful she did chime in. @funcolors you really defined the issue for me when you stated that the base paints are different. Light bulb moment for sure! Thank you for creating that chart for me. It's really helpful. I'm going to print your chart and go to SW for a paint chip, then take it to Home Depot. At SW you can request the tint formula (particular to a certain type of base paint), the "color recipe" and they happily print it out. I've asked for this at Home Depot however, I have not been able to get it there. A different business model with less emphasis on that kind of service. However, I will add that the poorest customer service I've gotten at a paint counter is, hands down, Benjamin Moore stores. I love the BM counters tucked in neighborhood Ace Hardwares but not at the BM stores. Perhaps they are too busy... I have a lot of confidence in my contractor so I'm not worried about differences in quality. It's all about trade-offs when you renovate, or at least, when I renovate. I am prepared to be realistic and flexible in order to focus on the completion of my project. And absolutely Patricia, I'm looking for close enough and that will be good enough. Thanks again for your truly heopful insights! Lori's Amazing Website...See Moremaxineshell
