exterior accent color help

Wanting to update the exterior of the house. I have a more traditional style and the exterior is definitely mid century modern but oh well…

Looking at SW alabaster white with urbane bronze trim, gutters and door. Wanting to put a cedar/wood accent above the front door and the windows on the right. My question is what stain color would go best with alabaster and urbane bronze? Thank you!

We went with cedar stain on our wood accents Home painted urbane bronze/intellectual gray.

Sounds like you want to paint the brick. Check out ROMABIO for masonry stain/paint. They can color match. Here are some stain colors inspiration for the wood parts.

I think darker blues like a navy or blueberry would be smashing with coastal plain and white. My own house is a sage-y green (Glidden High Tea) with Bleached Wheat (yellowish cream) trim and a medium-dark red door/mailbox/numbers -- can't remember the name of the red. I could see an avocado ish green working also although maybe not with high contrast white trim. I'd just stay away from any orangish or coppery or deep yellow tones. Make sure the red (if you choose red) has a blue-ish undertone.

I think a mid-tone greenish grey or other color taken from the brick would be great. Whatever you choose, paint your garage door the same color. If you use a light color for the trim, paint the downspouts to match the brick. If you use a darker color for the trim, you can use that same color on the downspouts. I would paint the front door a light color, so you have some contrast to the dark brick, and since it is recessed into the alcove.

Absolutely listen to @decoenthusiaste. Romabio is a more permanent cover for your brick than paint. They can mix any color you want. Love the cedar trim with a deep charcoal color. It will change your house dramatically.

I wouldn’t accent the gutters with a color. They are not something to highlight. Right now they blend in. I would keep the trim neutral.

Change all you want but that contemporary home is never going to be traditional. Here is a brick home that had the Romabio limewash applied to make it appear more 'vintage'. Would that be acceptable for you?

Additionally, the landscaping could be changed to something more traditional in style.

@bevfladeziner Love that! I know it won’t be traditional (unfortunately). Just wanted to point out I have no idea what to do with this house since I’m more traditional. The inside is surprisingly not super modern so I can handle it😂 I really like the lighter brick with dark trim in those pics.
