Timberj, Thanks for sharing your picture. It's nice to see the Dover on beadboard with a dark vanity. I was thinking a nice simple white, soft cotton shower curtain would work. PB has a couple I like. The countertops will be a solid surface of some kind. I was thinking either solid white or a tannish brown that goes with the floor. Andreadeg, I originally had been thinking a blue very similar to the one in the 2nd photo Lindybarts posted, as I love that look. I test painted a swatch of SW Rain, but it looked too bright in there and not quite right with the warm Whole Wheat in the hall. Weird thing is that it looked so perfect on the posterboard sample when I held it up on the bathroom wall prior to cabinetry being in place. But once the cabinets/tile were in and the Whole Wheat was painted just outside it seemed all wrong. It made me think that maybe blue wasn't the most complimentary color to the WW. I happened to already have the brown samples, so decided to give those a whirl. I ended up liking them and feel they compliment the WW nicely. Maybe I should've explored more blues, but I do love the warm rich browns too. In fact of the 1st 2 gorgeous photos Lindybarts posted I am slightly more drawn to the 1st one with the rich brown walls than the one with blue. Thank you both for your help.:-)

I wouldn't do 3/4 high beadboard in that area for the reasons les mentioned and also because it appears you have 8'h ceilings. It's just not going to look right. If you want the beadboard, make it about 36-42"H and paint it the same color as the trim. Having the trim and BB the same color will help hide the curve in the wall. I can see the problem area you're talking about and it looks like the drywall person built the corners out too far. I'd price out the BB and then have a drywall person give you an estimate to correct the drywall problem. I really don't think it's worth going to the expense of BB to try and hide the curve. Easier solution is to paint the wall a lighter color (with a quality washable paint) and add a runner to take your eye off the wall! Having the wall a darker color than the trim highlights the curve. Keep in mind that in shimming out the BB you'll need to remove the baseboard and shim it also, which could lead to your buying and installing new baseboard in a few areas.

I would have it the color of your most public room, the family room because you are not going to be chopping it up by continuing that and no one sees your bedroom if it is closed, but even if it is open, I love those colors conjoined.

If it is indeed Inchyra Blue from F&B, it's a gorgeous colour irl! However, if you go with F&B's very matte finish, be aware that every scuff and bump and scrape will show on your gorgeous Inchyra Wall, so when you wander through your hall admiring the light and tones as they change in that infamous F&B matte way throughout the day, your eye will stop and stagger and tear up at those miserable scuffs and bumps and scrapes. Every. Single. Time. So, I'd recommend either re-painting once a week, which may, indeed, be deeply therapeutic, or upping the sheen by several degrees! Or go with another brand's knock-off, which will never have the same quality as F&B, but your life's path may be smoother as a result.
