Watch What You Buy
Comments (14)OK everybody, true story time. Texas cops and sheriff's don't mess around. Over in Jonestown, a widow living with her SIL and daughter on a 20 acre tract, with a big fallow truck garden in the back of the house filled with Johnson grass. NG Blackhawk doing FLIR training missions flew over their place and WHOOPS, got a big reading on a lot of weed. Turns out that weed and Johnson grass have the same IR signature. Weekend warriors got in touch with the local smokies and they came and broke down the door in the middle of the night, shot her dogs, drug everybody out and beat hell out of them, and left them handcuffed to the bumpers of the cop cars while they ransacked the house and fruitlessly searched for the cash crop in back. The judge threw the book at the county mounties and a huge cash settlement was paid to the victims. How can you break the law, when you make the law......See MoreIf you're planning to buy Magoes
Comments (11)Costco is at it again. They will have another tropical fruit tree roadshow tomorrow July 26. Sounds like they will have grafted mangoes and seedlings, cherimoyas, passion fruit, kiwi, golden berry, goji berries, persimmons, kumquats, asian pears, mameys, 3 n 1 berry bush. I think they will have a bit more but that is all I remember....See MoreYou're 22 and you want to buy your GF a birthday present
Comments (29)I have two recently launched children, both have an interest in cooking. Daniel was pleased with the Betty Crocker Cooking Basics cookbook. I gave his ex girlfriend the Cooking Light Complete Cookbook. Both cover cooking techniques, ingredients, pantry basics, and have loads of photos. Alice came home recently and expressed a desire for a cast iron skillet. I gave her mine. It was given to me by my grandmother when I was the same age. She also asked for the waffle iron. I bought Danny a selection of herbs and spices. On each one I taped a list of recipes and foods for which each ingredient works well. He wanted a nice pepper mill and pepper corns, too. I know that Danny as well as Alice and her roommates love having good coffee and grind their own. And they use their crock pot a lot. One of them proudly showed me her very nice mandolin. Alice has always been a baker. Danny likes stove top cooking. It might be useful to know what she likes to eat. The Cooking Light Complete Cookbook was a good choice for Danny's ex GF as she is not a red meat eater and can't eat dairy. There were lots of options for her in the cookbook. This is also an age group that grew up with cooking shows so maybe she is a Rachel Ray or other celeb chef fan. That might help in selecting a gift, too....See Moreliving room to watch TV and looking nice when not watching tv
Comments (17)Can you take a picture from the sliders to the wall across and plant wall towards dining? I think you should nail down the layout first. I agree with above, the first and last are too bulky and don't go in a livingroom. You have a lot of brown already, but the middle could work with a light rug, and lighter side chair/tables. The pros here can really help with layout so you don't cover windows and doors with furniture. From what I see now, the tv can go on wall with the plant with sofa facing... You have a pretty space to work with!...See More- 4 years ago
