Anyone watch the country award show last night?
Comments (13)Yeah, didn't get why Bono or even KISS was there?? Some of the music I didn't care for, not very country, although, I do like country-rock sound. I just didn't like those particular people. When Sarah Evans was singing that song, all through it I was trying to figure out who's song it was. I love that song but the other version I knew was 100x better. Finally, it dawned on me that Rod Stewart sang it on one of the CDs I have. I really like Taylor Swift, she's a sweet girl. I hope the whole fame thing doesn't destroy her like it has so many others. I even like her music, much to my dd's annoyance. She'll turn it from my old rock station to country (which I don't listen to much anymore) and Taylor Swift will come on and she'll change it, I make her change it back. I guess she gets tired of hearing her but since I don't listen to country stations it's not annoying for me. Loved her song at the Grammy's too....See MoreWhat's Your Best "Find" on a Gift You're Giving This Christmas?
Comments (10)I work at a grocery store and as you know they carry much more than just groceries now... After mid summer they started marking down summer stuff. I got a popup screened in "house" enough for a table and couple of chairs for my DD and her DH. Was over 50.00 got it for 7.50. They love to go camping and it will be great for shaded/bug free hanging out and for the dogs too. I also got them a BIG umbrella for the patio table, for 10.00. They will be surprised and happy come next summer. Those were the big buys for them. I got a bunch of other things, a set of tupperware(told me at Thanksgiving they don't have lids anymore for what they have) they all snap together for space saving. Got 28 piece set for 8.00. Regular price was 19.99. Stuff like that. Practical but good buys. Got a good friend a really cute iron ware decorated piece. She likes yard art stuff and she can hang this outside. It was 15.00. got it for 3.00. Really pretty piece. So check out your grocery stores come seasonal change.... you will find some good bargains!...See MoreWhat Movies and TV shows are you watching?
Comments (135)Actually have been to the movies recently!! Two times in two weeks!! Saw 'Little Women' last week - enjoyed it but it jumped around time-wise a bit and was sometimes challenging to follow. Last night went to see 'Just Mercy' and that was superb!! A true story, it will get you fired up for various reasons. One movie was pure entertainment and the other got you thinking and incensed and involved....See MoreStreaming shows - what are you watching?
Comments (76)Binged "Emily In Paris" last night. I love that show. Perfect TV IMHO, because it is just as good with the sound off as on. So much eye candy, which is one really good reason to watch TV/movies IMHO. If it's just ho hum gritty dreary everyday life, it had better be a pretty engaging/uplifting plot or witty dialog for me to want to bother with it! :) The two things I like about EIP is that they actually show her doing real(ish) work and doing it well. Problem solving. I dislike work themed TV shows where the work is largely irrelevant, as if that were possible IRL. I also just ADORE the fashions. Made me feel seriously bad about letting myself go, although in my line of work, doing a lot of outdoor field work, I could not pull off most of those outfits to wear, considering the situations where I would be wearing them would be very few and very far between. If I could even FIND or fit into such outfits. But I would like to up my wardrobe game, that has been on my "to do" list for a long while, but I seem to have trouble finding clothes that fit me and work with what I already have and that I can afford. Even little tweaks sometimes take me months to realize. For example, I have a skirt I just love but have been searching for years to find the right top that goes with it. I "grew out of" the ones I used to wear with it. I also like how the show "Emily In Paris" is slightly "meta" meaning they at least acknowledge some of the unreality of the setting, even if just to poke fun of it . . ....See More- 14 years ago
