No one has answered you, so I'll try. I'm not sure what story your pictures are telling. The plant seems ok in the first pic. Maybe the smaller ones on the right and left have fallen off?

I assume this is an aloe, right? You could chop it, allow to callous for a day or two, they replant in the mix described below. Don't water for a week or two. Or you could repot as it is since it has a good amount of roots. These are tough plants.

As far as not having any luck with succulents, if you follow these guidelines, you should have great luck:

THE POT

Use pots with holes in the bottom. Don't put a plant with a small root ball in an oversized pot. That won't make it grow big. Plastic, glazed or terracotta pots are good.

THE MIX

Your potting mix should be commercial cactus and succulent mix combined 50/50 with perlite or pumice, all from your nursery. The usual nursery potting mixes hold too much water for succulents because succulents hold plenty of water in their leaves and need a fast draining mix.

LIGHT

Succulents like lots of light, some need direct sun. If they don't get enough light, they will "reach" and get what is called "etiolated," all stretched out and not looking as they should.

WATER

Water only when the plant is dry, and if you are not sure, insert a wooden skewer at least halfway into the mix and wait a while. If the skewer is damp when you remove it, don't water. If you are unsure whether your plant needs water or not, wait a week or so. It' won't die, but if you overwater, it can die. Whenl you water, take the plant to the sink or outside and water until it comes out the hole. Allow to drain thoroughly and not sit in a saucer in drained water.
