New house, New garden, New roses..what's new?
Comments (33)Kristi, just thought I should mention the Kordes perfume-fest Parole, aka Buxom Beauty. Was introduced to the USA in 2008, so it may have gone under your radar. Apart from its names (Jailbait/Dumpling - yeah, good work there, Kordes Marketing Dept), this deep cerise pink rose is pretty near perfect - no spray requirements, beautiful high-centred flowers with substantial petals (HUGE blooms in cooler weather), nicely productive with a fragrance that is really intoxicating and waft-y, richly sweet but sophisticated. No cold cream or myrrh. And it cuts like a dream. I'm up to six of these. They're my battery hens for vase filling. Just sayin'....See MoreHelp! I don't want window treatments (6 pics)... long post.
Comments (24)Laurie, Thank you so much for your warm compliment about my house. As far as the paint...we used Benjamin Moore throughout. I remember the white was called "Linen White" which is on BM's website. There are actually two beige colors used in the greatroom. "#1031" is written on top of the lighter beige paint can. When I looked at BM's website it shows "Carlisle Cream" for that number but looks very lavendar on my computer. Not like the real paint at all. I wish I could help you with the name of the darker beige we used but the store kind of tweaked that color for us. It was BM's Moorecraft SPEC paint and on the top of that can is written "MC #47" if that helps. bristlingacres, Thank you too for your compliment. All of our interior doors are stained with white trim. They are knotty alder. I'm posting one pic of the stairwell door which shows color and trim pretty good. I got some samples yesterday of Hunter Douglas woven wood shades. They seem very light. I can see through them easily and they come in a host of patterns. I downloaded a picture (sorry it REALLY tiny) and a darker color than I would choose. What does everyone think of this option??? Do you think I would need cloth curtains on the sides like in this picture?...See MoreHappy New Year!!....New Years Resolutions...
Comments (14)Hi all! I'm new to the forums but I have an idea why this one doesn't get much response. It's not listed in any of the categories, it's only listed sort of alphabetically in the s's as The Single Life, it took me several visits to find it and I still have trouble remembering where it is on the list to click so I can lurk! Maybe someone should suggest to Spike? that it be made more visible, I know that there are a lot of singles on the forums. Just thought I'd pop in and say something and maybe someone else has had the same experience. My New Year's Resolution is to be proud of being single and not be so quiet. Happy New Year! Comments (10)I will! The most exciting aspect of January is, once they get us started... i.e. the foundation is forming up, I get to order my STOVE! .. lol... Trevor will be happy to actually get that invoice written up :P I am going to get the Manual Clean 48" Culinarian with 6 burners and a 12" griddle. Going to add red knobs and a wok grate... debated adding TWO wok grates because I have a few woks and when I get to cooking, I have been known to have more than one going at once. heh...but, right now, only one grate ;) Wish he had his dadgum safety knobs done already... would have rather had those :( Anyway, gotta order the trim kit for the Frigidaire single fridge and freezer combo as well as a 60 or 72" mantle for the fireplace.. not sure which one we will be getting, but we decided to order those ourselves so we could have more control over what we pick out. Russ...See Morelocaleater
