I would get new lighting over the mirror. The mirror looks to be hung too high, as does the art. The paint looks very different in the first photo than it does in the second. I like it in the first photo.

I want to keep the floors and possible the vanity. Should I go with a cream pant and black accents?

- Keeping those things'll really keep the cost down -- but it ties you into the brown/beige family; as such, I dislike the idea of cream/black. Doesn't seem like a color scheme that'll play nicely with the things you want to keep. And it'll still be neutral. Bathrooms are a great place to bring in COLOR.

- Blues -- from Carolina blue to Navy -- are nice with brown, and most people like blues in bathrooms. Personally, I'd go blue with the walls -- then pick an accent color (red, yellow, orange?) to use in a small way.

- Go bigger with the artwork on the wall across from the toilet -- either one large piece of art or several small, related pieces cobbled together. And bigger above the toilet as well. Since the mirror is framed, the artwork should be framed too.

- Alternately, go with wallpaper on the wall across from the toilet. Now that I think of it, I like this better.

- The window looks unfinished -- add a curtain in a pattern. This'll give you texture and color.

- Do you need the blinds? If not, lose them -- or maybe just pull them up-up so they don't show under the curtain.

- The bath towel seems to be in the wrong spot -- is that just me?

- Add a nice floor mat.

- Clear functional items off the toilet tank top /will they fit under the vanity? Add a wicker basket with some pretty things to the toilet top or a shelf above the toilet.

- I like the lighting just fine.

- I'm not sure if the mirror is too high or not, but -- being a very small person -- too-high mirrors are one of my pet peeves.

- Crown molding will give a finished look to the room.
