Thanks echoflooring, are there any pros and cons doing staple and glue down? Will the board start to pop up after 10 years using glue-down? It sounds like either way is fine but if there is a reason to prefer one way or the other, I'd like to learn it now before it gets installed. Also, thanks lynn. My room is the 3rd floor attic so I kind feel I don't need floating. I'll probably call br-111 as you suggested. Yeah I am acclimating the flooring now. Br-111 recommends 2 weeks and that's what I am going to do. Btw, I never got to see a pic of your engineered Amendoim floor. I know you did a tons of research before and in fact that was one factor I am chosing br-111 enginnered. Any chance I can see a pic of your floor?

OSB is referred to as 'plywood' as well. Proper underlayment plywood looks like a sheet of wood. OSB looks like potato chips glued into place - which is why some people refer to it as "chip board". You want to nail/glue to the real plywood. OSB/chip board can cause problems with both staples and adhesives.

A quick look around my showroom indicates that most manufacturers state that their wide engineered plank can be glued, stapled, nailed or floated. Full spread glue will provide the most sound, solid result. Stapling/nailing alone may result in a little more sound. I don't find that objectionable (it sounds like a wood floor!) but I ask customers what their preference is. Stapling/nailing with a partial adhesive assist will minimize the sound generated from traffic. Stapling/nailing alone does allow one to use a cost effective moisture retarder like Aquabar.

Did you end up going with these floors, and if so, are you happy with them and do you have any pictures? We just chose these for our bedeoom, but can only find the pictures on the manufacturer’s site.
