I have been shopping...here is what you need to know!!! LOL
Comments (18)Sigh - I envy my more southern and western sisters and brothers, at least where I live, Walmart, Home Depot, etc. don't have much out yet. But. For us space and price challenged, I was delighted to find a Suncast resin storage box 22" x 22" - snaps together in minutes - at Walmart for ~30$. I own the Suncast vertical shed - these ARE resin, but, they are holding up great and keep the water out! Good stuff for the price! Also there is some organic gardening soil with 3 months of natural fertilizer for $5 a bag - this is some of the best soil I have ever seen, already has perlite - I never pot straight from the bag without amendments but I was able to with this stuff. And one cheap Queen Elizabeth bagged rose, for a problem spot that needs a nice tall bush. I'll be heading back to get some more soil, and any interesting roses..........See MoreDo you think I'll miss having a tub filler?
Comments (7)Sure - I'm going to fill the tub with the same amount of water (which, for the tubs we're looking at, is in the 70-80 gallon range). But, it will take almost twice as long - and yes, the water does cool. Sassinak - you're on my page! (I'm looking for a tub that holds less water, btw - but still, taking 15 minutes to fill a tub vs. 8 or so does seem like an issue). We didn't want a wall spout because it's a two person tub - and we don't want a faucet poking into the head of Bather #2. We did go to a good plumbing store yesterday - and it looks like we'll get the handheld PLUS a tub filler - with just a diverter between the two (no handles for the filler) - and mount the filler on the deck, possibly back side middle - so no having to have it in one's face. I really appreciate the help. Lazypup, in particular - thanks for the clarification on flow rates. We brought home Grohe literature that indicates that one of their tub fillers will reach a rate of 15 gpm! (We have good pressure at the main point of entry to our house and will be replumbing from that point to the bathroom in order to keep that good pressure up where it belongs - so I'll be able to ZOOM fill my tub). Not that it's been much of an issue - I actually have my day planned out right now so that I can fill our current fairly small tub (takes about 15 minutes) while I do stuff in the kitchen. It would be nice, though, to be able to plan a quicker bath!...See MoreHELP- I Think I have been scammed!
Comments (33)shee- no I have never used Paypal. I've never shopped on Ebay either. I have seen some great things that friends and family have purchased on Ebay. Does Ebay accept any form of payment other than Paypal? I personally like a more straight forward shopping experience. From what I've heard about Ebay, sounds as though there is bidding process? Is that the case with everything on Ebay or only certain items? I love to negotiate when I have my eye on something in an antique shop, estate sale, etc. While I enjoy the negotiating IRL, I don't know that I would do very well doing so online. I experienced identity theft at holiday time a couple of years ago. That was a total nightmare for me as I felt violated that someone had access to my social security number and other personal information. I use my credit card for online purchases. The bank that issued my card is extremely vigilent and actually stopped the use of my credit card on the first purchase attempt by whomever it was that hijacked my info. I never use my debit card for online purchases. Perhaps it is not as big of a risk as I envision, but I don't want to go through the whole identity theft horror again....See MoreI think someone may have sent me a kitten.
Comments (21)"but the kitten didn't act feral at all, which leads me to think she might have a home. She seemed so eager for attention, though" If she shows up again, and you are able to financially and physically take responsibility for her, take the cat and don't feel a moment's regret or guilt. Cats pick their people. You shouldn't argue with them about it. :o) My mother has said for years that I'm acquiring other people's cats when I take in the strays from my yard. But if a cat chooses to remain in my yard (a couple acres in a very rural area) and not return to wherever they were from originally... None of them have ever had any form of ID, some were never even fixed, and none have ever wanted or even tried to leave the house once they were in. A couple of winters ago, a neighbor asked me to look out for one of her barn cats that hadn't been returning home for dinner. Sure enough, there were tracks all over my yard and he showed up in person on my deck that evening. He spent most of the snowy night trying to get in windows and doors all around my house. I hadn't seen him before but he'd obviously been visiting quite a bit, for my crew ignored him completely as he sat out in the cold, peering enviously in at the warm and dry residents. (It turns out I actually had had a brief glimpse of him peering in the glass door months before, but he had been much younger and very skittish at the time.) I had him in the house by the next evening, and he turned out to be such a doll I told his caretaker she couldn't have him back. The woman didn't demand his return, claimed he was "ugly" and not very social (and she had the rest of his litter and his mother to care for). His brother however, who had been by for a visit the month before, was the gal's favorite - and I should have snatched him up, no matter what havoc I imagined he would have wreaked had I brought him inside, because as it turned out I was the last person to ever see that cat again. Believe me, the last thing I needed was another cat, but the rest of the barn cat family is no longer among the living or have been missing for well over a year now. It has been more than worth the trouble and expense to save the one I did. You hate to pick favorites, but the cat I certainly didn't "need" or "wanted" has turned out to be one of the best cats I've ever had. Good luck with the kitten if you find her again. (Black and white's are the absolute best, by the by!) Crazy Cat Lady Wren...See MoreSuzieque
