Beadboard Wallpaper Same Product from both sources
Comments (15)Hi, to all of you! It's Rhoda, from Southern Hospitality & I'm so happy to see this post & the other one talking about the beadboard wallpaper. I loved it SO much, I added it to my online shop, so thank you Moccasinlanding for mentioning my blog & shop! I so appreciate any of you who have ordered from me. It's been my biggest seller and I can't say enough good things about the product. I'm so happy that so many of you have used it successfully too. Please feel free to come on over to my blog & browse the beadboard projects! I've been thrilled with everything I've done with it. I love the kitchen cabinets that I saw in the other post too, great way to update a kitchen. And yes, as mentioned, I've seen some other versions of beadboard wallpaper, but the Graham Brown UK version that I have in my shop is the BEST! No comparison at all. The others don't look real and this one does. I'll add a link to my shop too. Thanks so much! Comments (68)You are so helpful - I'd hate to do this without you! I'm 98% sure I'm going with the star and cross. I LOVE, LOVE the picket in the wave but those are big tiles and I'm afraid the impact would be lost with how the doorway breaks it up. Another wall, maybe the fireplace in the kitchen:) Regarding edges on the star and cross, I was told that a beveled edge would be the right treatment for the outside corner. Using Sketchup, here's what I came up with, with hopefully very exact dimensions and 1/4-3/8 grout lines, and the white clay body (which is a little smaller than the recycled). This shows the left side of the pantry, and then the front. In this case, tiling would start at that outside corner, which would be all beveled stars, cut in half. (Please ignore the discrepancy in grout colors; the right side would be what is desired). The 'messy' parts are the far left of the left side, and the far right of the front. I'll ask my designer for input. As you point out, I can tweak the width of the trim, but I believe this should be in place before tiling starts, no? Regarding grout color - current grout is TEC silverado (here's a closeup). I'll definitely mock up a few sample boards once the tiles arrive. Next up... line up a local installer (or remember who we used last time...)....See MoreWallpaper the inside of this kitchen cabinet??
Comments (19)I need to play around with some platters and some subtle color. I don't want to commit to anything huge yet. Rebecca - my sofa is wonderful. It's from Lee Industries - their "Coverall" collection. The covers come off and they are completely washable. We've had this slipcover set for about 8 years. The couch for 13 years. We originally purchased it in a dark rusty/red color, but when we moved to the mid-west from the East coast, I wanted a change. I just chose a fabric and they made the new covers and shipped them to me. I can't say enough about Lee's furniture. We have two boys and a non-shedding dog. The covers wash beautifully. I was looking at papers like the ones you posted…. thank you for sharing!...See MoreDIY Wallpaper in Bathroom
Comments (11)I have a 100+ year old house with no fans/vents in the bathrooms and I love wallpaper. There is just nothing like wallpaper to enliven a space and give it personality. There was already wallpaper in all the bathrooms and the powder room and kitchen when I moved. Over the years, I've wanted to bring my own taste to the rooms with new wallpaper. About 5 years ago I hired my wallpaper hanger to put some adorable Schumacher wallpaper into my teenage daughter's small bathroom. Note: Teenagers + showers + no fan = LOTS OF STEAM! The wallpaper hanger encountered the problems others have noted with removing the old wallpaper--it hadn't been prepped and the face of the wallboard kept peeling off, leaving rough spots. She did her best, but the walls weren't really flat. She put the paper up anyway and it looked fabulous. Then, after 3-4 years of 1-2 showers per day in that room and the wallpaper started to peel off in a few areas. I called the wallpaper hanger and she came over and spent 30 minutes sticking the edges down again. It looks great again!! The bottom line: 1) DO properly prep and prime the walls; 2) unless you are a raging perfectionist, put up wallpaper in your bathroom if you love wallpaper. Just maybe expect to do a bit of re-gluing now and then = really not a big deal. It's a bit of work, but so is touching up painted walls....See MoreHU-187528210
