DIY Wallpaper in Bathroom

Hey guys,

Just bought a duplex built in the 1890's that needs some TLC. I would like to spruce things up in the dreary bathroom and want to put in "wallpaper" from pages of Albertus Seba's "Cabinet of Natural Curiosities". They are really interesting natural history illustrations from the 1700's. See inspiration picture below.

I was going to use wallpaper paste on the back of the pages and stick them on the walls. BUT, I am concerned that the moisture from the bathroom (there is a fan/vent installed) might end up compromising the integrity of the wallpaper. Someone told me "They used to paper bathrooms all the time in Victorian days, you should be fine!"

I really like this idea, and I am being a bit stubborn and would like to proceed with it... can anyone give me advice, point me in the right direction, or talk some sense into me! An exhaustive internet search didn't supply me with much information. Thank you!
