Teeny pwdr room reveal.
Comments (20)Thanks all for the nice comments. I know it isn't fancy like some gorgeous bathrooms are on here, but it fits my desire for updated rustic that is easy to clean! Gina: a hook is a good idea. We'll have to add one in there. Locrian: confessional, lol. Houseful: it is plenty big enough, go for it! Treasuretheday: I'm pretty happy with the wallpaper. Artichokey: Yup Twigz. I got this set from Amazon. I do like it and I've never had a powder room to be able to buy a matched set of anything. How silly to get excited by that, huh? DH did all the trim out of cedar, since we couldn't find any knotty alder to match the doors. I like it better and he did a very nice job, which is huge because he loathes doing trim. Crl, Enduring, Sochi: thanks! olychick: I think it does a good job in such a small room. We have an older version in our current bathroom and it takes a little bit to clear out the shower steam, but in here it works great and is relatively quiet....See MoreBathroom Remodel
Comments (9)Geoffrey_B You are making assumptions with no facts. I simply mean if a customer purchases a product on their own, I will not warranty labor to replace the product should it fail within my labor warranty period. They are on their own to recoup any labor charges from the manufacturer. I never got any renumeration from a manufacturer or distributor for buying products. I recommended/panned products on the basis of my experience and the manuf. reputation. Now, when I suggested a product and they buy it, I am more willing to warranty the product---if for no other reason than the fact I recommended the product. And I have done that---and recouped costs myself from the manufacturer. I seldom did work for higher end customers because I was doing the work more for something to do in my retirement than to make money. I often did work for a story and a hug---for people who were on fixed incomes and could not afford a 'real' contractor. However, I have worked on $400,000+ houses(that is a really big house here in KC---4,500 sq. ft. 12/12 pitch wood shingle roofs, three car garage, mother-in-law suites, 5 bd, 4 bath, etc.). And I have worked on 25 year old mobile homes where the flooring had deteriorated to the point residents fell through and broke an ankle. Was I 'just' a handyman? Heck yes, and damn proud of my ability and expertise. I frequently knew more than the codes inspector. I knew I could not match a companies stain on supplied trim product without their specific recipe. I knew what contractors used to finish trim on houses built here locally and was in demand to repair trim and match colors. I could fix scratches in wood flooring when appliances damaged the wood. I could install shingles, plumb a sink, wire a light, paint a room, or install any kind of flooring as well as many pros....See MoreA very small and haphazard reveal
Comments (64)Rita, you're too kind as you're always are..thank you so much! the pics are awful the more I look at them lol. well in my defence it's really hard to take good pics unless there's plenty of natural light..and somebody else is taking them:) Who knows better. We just moved in then(the pics taken within first week or two of us in..we had guests coming 9 days after we moved. Guests are my sacred cows.), Obviously more lived in now. We managed to clean the laptop memory some, so i might be able to show you new art, at some point. I'm torn as to where to put it. I'm torn between my initial plan and better balance-and egocentrical needs of me seeing art better from where i usually see it. Lol. The mistakes still stay mistakes though. We didn't get to remedy anything yet. The hardscaping/landscaping of the backyard..still awaits. But we put in one more arch(lol. my DH couldn't live without it) and finally installed back door closet. My friend took pics of the house for her photo business but she was very fascinated with details, I thought she's gonna take these wide lens pics like real estate photographers- but she was so much into books and lights and art and compositions of sorts. Her photos are hundred times better. I think I posted some of hers here and there. They're just a very different approach of showing space. She didn't care about capturing shower niches lol. She has Instagram. And artistic vision. And great camera and knowledge how to use it. While I have you guys:) And strange abilty to write long posts. If I leave a message on somebody's phone it's also painful. (I'm the best when I have someting like flu btw. I get short, clear, and to the point. Going to the job interview when I had a fever practically used to be a guarantee of me getting the job))...See MoreShower “wet” wallpaper is up
