How did you decide on your bathroom look?
Comments (20)Thanks Rookie!! Pinch -- the vanity was an existing honey oak vanity that we stripped and stained black. The countertop is uba tuba. The paint color is all the same just photographs differently in different light -- it's Laura Ashley Taupe 6. The bathroom was done on an extreme budget. All tile was from Lowes and was dirt cheap...the brown bricks were the most expensive at $5 per square foot, the rest was under $2 per square foot. The field tiles were Sienna Almond -- in 12" x 12" and 6 x 6. The flooring will also be from Lowes at about $3 per square foot. Towel bars also came from Lowes (are you sensing a theme here) at about $35 each. Mirrors were an incredible Hobby Lobby find -- 50% off, $50 each although I had also picked up some lovely ones from Kirklands that would have looked great in the space but switched to these at the last minute. Our main goal in redoing the masterbath was to remove the cultured marble shower panels and eliminate the door. We wanted to widen the shower door for wheelchair access. Also, our countertop was cultured marble and had a lot of crazing around the drain. We found a good price on the uba tuba. Good luck on your bathroom!!...See Morespendogirl's 100% DIY bathroom
Comments (19)You did a beautiful job with the tile that is rich in color and design and the changes you made yourself that really improved the space and made the bathroom updated and very pretty. Thanks for sharing. You did an amazing job with the tile for doing it yourself I could have never done such a great job myself. I especially love the areas for your shampoo and conditioner. Thanks for that idea when I am ready to redo my Master Bathroom....See MoreHelp! Bathroom paint WAY too dark!
Comments (20)I looked at the paint this morning and it still seems dark although I know the lighting will help. The darker color will look great with all the black tile accents and art. I am not found of that orange fake oak vanity and mirror, you know? But maybe the darker color will de-emphasize the mirror rather than higlight it. I have to paint more tonight. Thank goodness I have 2 baths in this house. The 2nd one is even smaller than this one and a dark paint in that room would be much worse. That one stays white. So I will think on this 1st bath to see if I can stand the dark shade (which is only this dark here). Thanks for the suggestions. I will be taking my BM paint fan deck with me everywhere now. LOL. Have a good day!!!...See MorePics of uba tuba granite with white cabinets please!
Comments (11)I was posting on the HVAC section of this site about a replacement we are doing for the home and decided to search for ubatuba on white as we just signed the paperwork to have ubatuba put in our Myrtle Beach Oceanside condo that already has white cabinets. We are pulling out the old aqua green laminate coutertops from the kitchen and both bathrooms & are moving into the modern ages with granite. Here is the BEFORE for reference and I will post the AFTER once it's been completed next weekend! This particular picture is a "brighter" than it looks in person. The coutertops are really THAT green and the cabinet's belnd in better with the white appliances that this makes it appear. They are actually more of a whitewashed/weathered look in person. We also have plans to replace the dated tile with the newer 3-foot by 1 foot grey tile...See MoreNancy in Mich
