Comments (12)I normally lurk once in a great while but thought I'd chime in here. I agree with the others. I like the craftsman style door the best with your house and also think your door hardware and light fixtures are too ornante for craftsman style. We just got the occupancy permit on our house which is also craftsman-inspired. We used a fiberglass craftsman style door from ThermaTru (model CCA230). We plan to use the gel stain on it (once the weather is nicer) so that it looks like wood but it can be painted, too. The door is available without the dentil shelf or with one of two dentil options. You can also get different kinds of glass to go in the 3 windows or keep the plain. The door is my second favorite part of our house and I highly recommend it. It would look great with your house. You can Google the model number and manufacture to find pictures of it. For the lights, we used a very simple jelly jar light by the door and double bullet-style lights for the sitting area of the porch, both with a black finish. I would have loved to use more square craftsman style lights for those areas but we were on a tight budget and figured they'd be easy to change later if we wanted. For the door hardware, we went with a simple lever style with a rectangle backplate and a separate deadbolt, all in a matte black finish....See MoreAnybody willing to help with photoshop?
Comments (12)Lindy - THANK YOU so much!! Great job! Is there any way to make the stone go all the way up so the current post top treatment doesn't show? I REALLY like the partial ones with the band of brick. We may remove one of the supports on the right side and move the other some as one is not needed for support it was there for balance with the walkway and we could move that around some. Thanks for landscaping and adding grass too :D. I just finished a bed on the right side by the garage (the bit of green siding on the right is where it starts) and it took 3 weekends. I want to get the columns figured out before starting the porch ones as I figured plants would get trampled and I'd be upset. DH will love to see the grass, he's been busy raking rocks so we can sod. organic - If you see my second post you can see the sizes I'm shooting for on the top columns. Just didn't want to ask for the world with the photoshopping as I know it takes them time and needed the most basic to show DH. The whole reason for the stone is so I can beef up the posts as I mentioned in my first post....See MoreI don’t have photo shop, please help.
Comments (15)Go to a good lampshade store if you have one in your area. This isn’t something you can get just anywhere. They may be able to order what you need . I needed a couple custom made shades so that is also an option but be prepare to pay $$$!...See More- 4 years ago
