Can someone help me find pics of oldhouse1's kitchen?
Comments (6)Bayareafrancy- question for you... I saw an older post were b you had a pic of your white suway tile backsplash with bright white grout. You mentioned that you didn't like it add it was too bright. Can you tell me what tile color and grout you used? I am looking to just use either snow white subway tiles from HD or the comparable tiles from lowes. I'm trying to figure out what grout to use without it being too white so I'm hoping I can pick your brain. Any advice? Thank you much!...See MoreSmall Kitchen Island - Do you know where I can get one like this?
Comments (13)I'm working on a web site now and putting together samples of many cabinet styles and butcher block tops. I won't put up the web site until those are finished. The piece pictured above is an older piece I had sitting around. The newer version has slightly different proportions. The top is thicker, as are the slats and bottom rails. Also, the finish is different. There are many different configurations: closed cabinets; open pot racks on one end or both; cantilevered top for seating, etc., in many different finishes and styles. You can basically get anything you want. My email is johndisanto@earthlink.net. I'll answer your questions from there....See MoreCan anyone find me a silver tray like this one
Comments (63)Well, I heard back from the lady I thought might be able to help you find the perfect tray, but I think it might be a bust. She located three trays she said are very close to your inspiration pic, one 24 inches and the other 25 inches and around $650-750. Bad part, they are new. :( The other she found is 31 inches and circa 1850, sounds perfect, right? Then I heard the price, $6500. Had to pick my jaw up of the floor and think that the 1st Dibs tray is looking especially good now, even though I already thought it was a cool piece. By the way, did you see the marble tray in the WSJ this weekend? Probably not what you want since you have an inspiration room with a great silver tray, but what a great piece. Anyway, good luck with your continued search. Hope you have success this week in NYC....See More2 Island configs-seating on 1 or 2 sides..which one do you like?
Comments (21)Nan-that is what I envision - grabbing a seat and slowing down a bit instead of standing and hurry hurry hurry. Plus I think that someone on that end seat could SIT while helping prep and still be in a good spot. Williamsem-you pretty much summed it up. I just worry that in the end the broken up prep might bug me but you are right - I'd have a nice chunk on either side plus behind me by the stove. Yes I do want 1 4 drawer stack and maybe that will be it! Lyfia-I am not exactly sure. I will measure tomorrow. The walls started going up today. kksmama-thanks for the pics! I like the stools that tuck under nicely. The view is unobstructed that way. On the other hand the stools with backs that you posted look like they would be more comfortable to linger. Thanks everyone for your thoughts, even if it was just repeating my thoughts for me to read in someone else's words. It's very helpful. :)...See Morelobo_93
