e reader question
Comments (7)you can read them anytime you just choose the book in your kindle library and tell it to put it on your kindle for android app then it is on your device to read at any time. to use barnes and noble online you need to have an account set up that just means a user name and password but they do ask that you put a credit card number on file with them so that if you want to purchase a book it will be able to do that automatically, anytime you get a book even a free one you go through the process just like if you were buying it, only the total is zero, and it gets put in your nook library, you can then access it with your nook reader app just like you do kindle and download it to your device. Aldiko has an area where it lets you put in a url address for where you want to get books from and it also contains list of book sources you can just choose to go to, but what I do is anytime I find a book I want (I always get epub format) I download the book to my pc, I keep a folder on it that I put all my ebooks in, then I take the sd card that I use for the device put it into my card reader and copy my books from that folder into the sd card. When I put the sd card into the device Aldiko can access it and I can read the books. On the aldiko home screen there is an sd card icon you click that find the folder that has your books in it, sometimes it is in the ebooks folder, in my recent one it was in the external folder, I just click through the folders till I find the books, put a check mark in front of the book you want to read or you can do all of them and it will say move to Aldiko or something like that. You just leave the SD card in the device. I am not sure about your gift card. how that would work you may have to do it from your pc?? never tried that. Read eBooks On Android Using Aldiko Book Reader this is a little video on how to use one of the various book stores that aldiko can access for you Downloading eBooks to Aldiko from BooksOnBoard one thing I like is that when reading to adjust the brightness of the screen just slide you finger up and down along the left edge it will change the brightness, I always read in the night read mode it is just easier for me to see and especially when reading in bed. feel free to ask anything you need help with. I am still learning new things daily too. In fact I just downloaded that FBreader yesterday to give it a try. If you do not like the browser on your device there are some very good ones you can try out, Dolphin, Opera mini, firefox, and soon there will be a chrome version, several others too. you can add them to try them then delete them if you don't like it, you will be given the choice of which browser to use each time you need to use it. Dolphin is very slick and has the tabs....See Moree-reader experts: does Kindle or PDN show pictues
Comments (10)Raven, have you read any of the Outlander books? Maybe because I'm over 60, but I found while reading the first Outlander that I needed to re-read or go back to previous chapter that it wasn't as easy to do with the PDN so I started acquiring the hard copies...wherever I could buy them used and really cheap. I'm glad that I have them as I'm in the 5th book and there are so many characters that keep popping back into the books from previous ones. I know that I could always use the book mark, but you never know what you will need to refer back to....See MoreWho here has a nook? (e-reader)
Comments (25)I have both the B&W Nook and the Color Nook. I gave my B&W one to a friend to use, but I do miss it when reading at the beach. Other than that, I don't miss it at all. I love my color Nook. I love that I don't need a reading light and don't find it makes my eyes tired. I love getting my email on my nook and I love checking out library books. I only buy books occasionally. I love being able to lie on my side and I can just prop my Nook up on a pillow. I like that I can take 10 books with me on vacation and they all fit right in my purse! :-) I have to admit that I was a real anti e-reader person. My DH bought my first one as a birthday gift because he couldn't think of anything else to get me. I reluctantly agreed to try it out but had every intention of returning it. I loved my paper books - the feel of them, smell etc. Now, I cannot fathom reading on anything but my Nook. LOVE IT!!...See MoreWhat e-reader to buy
Comments (9)There sure are a lot to choose from these days. You might want to do a search for "kindle" or "e-readers" to see what's been posted. I got Harry a Kindle for Christmas last year. It must be easy to use because he's technically challenged, but once he learned to use it he doesn't put it down. I got him the one with both wi-fi and 3G. Now I'm not sure it was such a wonderful idea. He's read 65 books since April! That means he doesn't do much else. Amazon's website is great. They have a whole site of 99 cent books, free books, etc. They keep track of what you've read (so you don't repeat). You just click and a minute later it's on your reader. We got a nice gift card from my daughter for Christmas and then he got another one for Father's Day. That's pretty much kept him in books....See MoreElmer J Fudd
