Comments (12)Lavender_lass, The contractor started framing and he thinks having the oven on the corner will make the kitchen feel enclosed... He's recommending to move the oven to the wall where the fridge and cooktop are. He saying I can have 18" of prep space on each side of the cooktop. I thought it would be too crowded. Your thoughts? I really love the baking station. He also said we can't do the window on the left hand side of the sink because of a shear wall....See MoreWhere can I see Kitchen sinks on display?
Comments (7)I'm in FL, so not sure how much this information will help you, but... I had good luck finding sinks on display at Home Despot, Lo*we's, and every cabinet store I went into had at least a few sinks on display. Most of the sinks were shown with faucets, but I remember walking aisles and aisles of faucets, probably at the big box stores. My only complaint about the way the big box stores display sinks and faucets is that they are angled up high on the aisle and it's hard to judge how deep or functional the sink/faucet combo is when you can't play with it. Whatever you do, take your biggest pot with you (or it's measurements) to make sure it will fit in your sink if that is important to you. It was for me....See More98.5% Finished Kitchen ! Comments (62)sdionnemoore, I posted the pictures in the decorating forum - hope they help! Judy, the instructions from Jenn- Air are not that great! Lucky DH installed our last doors so he was helpful explaining things to the cabinet installer. The custom panels were made large enough to cover the outside stainless trim (old house they were smaller and that trim showed - I like it this way better). The door require a 1/4" backer board, which they veneered to be finished on the exposed edge. These side into the Stainless "grooves". I am not sure if the drilled the holes for the handles through the custom door AND the backer board - or if just through the custom doors. I think it was just through the doors but I will ask when the installer returns this week. I think they had to either screw or glue the custom panels onto the 1/4" backer board. Everything is nice and tight, no wiggle at all. Hope these pictures help. phoggie, I hope to be posting a few photo's of the house in just a couple days! I'll be posting them on the building forum, and I know I'll direct a few over on the decorating board as well! I am almost unpacked - needs lots of decorating, blinds, etc... but I'll get there! Thanks again everyone, your comments mean so much - especially about my mistake edge on the island!...See MoreKitchen sink window with tile (no trim) to the ceiling
Comments (7)That is a fantastic idea, we don't have much room to trim out the window over the sink, the cabinets are very close to the window edge. This is a great idea!! Thanks for sharing!...See MoreM Riz
