Hoo boy, I’ve been busy with Thanksgiving all day and never came back to the puzzle!

I’m glad to see that I got Hih Hurdles right, even though I was only 95% sure. And for 0/40. I had “Love over 40”, as in dating. I sure hope it’s never 40° below 0!

It was 22 below zero a couple of nights ago here❄️ That’s Celsius though.

40 below zero would be the same Fahrenheit or Celsius as the scales meet there.

Got them all but D 1. I just saw this puzzle five minutes ago and was doing good till D1. So obvious now.

Roxsol, like they say, there's no bad weather, just bad clothes.

Took a final quick look before reading the solution and got two of my three missing ones. Like bpath I wasn’t totally convinced of high hurdles. Only one I missed was stop in the name of love.

Only one i missed was Forty below Zero, and I almost had it and didn't realize it. SMH. It definitely doesn't get that cold here and I kept saying ’Forties’.

Thanks Jasdip - I did have 40 below 0 but figured it was wrong because who of us ever lives in that? But maybe some do. I got root canal wrong.

How about that! I had C2 and D1 right after all! Yay me!

Now I'm all charged up for Sunday's puzzle! (And will probably miss them all, that's what I get for bragging.)

I’m not sure why I wasn’t sure about High Hurdles. I mean, it was TOO obvious!

A couple of years ago, we reached -21. It wasn’t the record, but I wasn’t living here for that: -27. Anyway, we did some of the fun things like take a wet tshirt outside and watch it freeze stiff in seconds. And toss hot water in the air and see it freeze. All good demonstrations of why you have to COVER UP if you have to be out in that cold. I can’t imagine being in -40. (I think of Ernest Shackleton’s crew, spending winter in the Antarctic without thinsulate and polar fleece and maybe not even silk underwear.)
