oh no....blue/gray paint looks.....purple!!!!
Comments (16)Well, here is the problem... here is the BM Color Preview palette as it would be displayed in the store. The blue arrow is Sweet Innocence, the red arrow is Gull Wing Gray the color that looks a tad purple in my room. Now, I don't claim any color expertise, I'm just am going off of what the design consultant at my BM store told me. Gull Wing Gray is not Purple, it's Blue Green, (she showed me the color notation in a database). BM makes things harder by mixing paints of different hues on the same strip. If what I read online is correct, Sweet Innocence is also in the Blue Green family. As I said, I'm not an expert, but I have spent a lot of time pondering gray paint. I love gray! The idea that something supposedly blue green can look purple boggles my mind, and I'm trying to understand it. (sorry, I just edited this post to correct a typo and it messed up the picture :( if you click on it, you can see the whole thing)...See MoreHow can I make the exterior look less dated? Pls help!!!
Comments (38)Another beautiful house that fell into the gray trap. Get rid of the gray and the house will be fine. Choose one of the colors out of the bigger color scheme of littlebug. The white is too white too. A tone of light beige will accommodate the walls to the brick. A truly dark red or dark green might be nice accent colors, but don't overdo it. Maybe just the door and the swing (which can stay in my opinion, but the pillows are too modern). Besides that: do people not build and buy such houses for the 'dated' look? It is supposed to look like from another era. So do not update, but preserve the look. The rest of the house is beautiful as it is. It doesn't have to be all Tudor style, per se. Have you seen the movie 'pride or prejudice'. That house also has such a wooden railing. In my opinion your door and windows look beautiful too. Some agents of styles tend to become to stringent. So: paint will do a marvelous job on an already lovely house....See MoreHELP! Make my furniture look less blue!
Comments (37)Not a Pro. The room looks great! Just a suggestion....turn the ottoman to face the sofa and add a tray with some trinkets to finish off the room....See Morewhat colors make BM White Dove look more white and less yellow?
Comments (17)So many variables can affect the way a paint color looks. In my case, White Dove wouldn't look as yellow if I didn't have all my trim, doors, crown and cabinets painted BM Chantilly Lace, which is a true white compared to White Dove. My lighting is 3500K. Patricia is one of the few people on the forums who prefers the cold/bluish look of 4000K, so do some research before blindly following that suggestion. You can get recessed lights that are adjustable so you can change the Kelvin to suit your space. A few years ago I helped my Dad install some and I suggested they try them at 3500K ... after a few days they decided they liked the light a bit warmer and switched them to 3000K....See Morecawaps
