need help with living room rug

I’m not sure what colored rug would look good here. I am thinking of a cream colored. I’m also looking for an 8x10 rug perhaps in the $100-200 range. Any suggestions!? TIA

Are you attached to the plaid pillows? You may need more of a 9x`12.

A floor lamp would be great, and a coffee table.

go to rugsusa.com any color pretty much you choose would go nicely with that room. its all neutral colors. I would suggest doing an actual color to give some character to ur room. I also think a nice shag rug would look pretty and give texture. the room needs some added touches to complete it. maybe consider decorative couch pillows after you choose the proper area rug. and a nice curtain to complete the look.

OK. I have attached a pic of my living room. I have also attached a few pics of some rugs that have peaked my interest (the yellow flowers being my favorite). The only items in the room that will remain the same are the couch and loveseat. I'd like to keep my curtains if possible, but I'm not opposed to switching them out. Other than those 2 things, everything else in the room will be updated. Thanks for any input you can give!!

I kind of like this color palette for your room, so I might look for a rug that is less boisterous and has a light base with bits of the darker color throughout. Maybe even a bit of the color of your floor for some zip. Really like Night Train and Shoreline. If you're willing to go bolder with the green, it would be great to see something brighter and more rich than the wall color. I was going to suggest this gorgeous rug until I found out it's over $4k! These next three photos are supposedly of the same rug, but any way you go with it, I like the colors and subtle pattern for your room. The blue-grays and yellow-greens seem to work.

Looks like I've got two threads going here. Not sure how that happened. I'm very tired of the orange color in my house due to the logs ..so don't want orange rugs. I'd like to make the room lighter and maybe a light white/ grayish wall paint color and some white airy curtains and a lighter colored rug. I have lots of ppl in my house at times so I don't was pure white. I'm including a pic of a rug I like but I'm not sure if its good in this space. Maybe matching round rug and a rectangle rug would add interest. I'm not liking the shag rugs anymore. Too hard to clean

I only keep two pillows on my sofa anyway. You may be able just to buy covers and keep the inserts. A throw that pulls in the rug color may be better.

A lamp would really help make it feel like a room. Do you have access to any thrift stores or yard sales? I wouldn't want a used rug unless it was deep cleaned, but lamps and coffee tables can be upcycled with a bit of work and some paint.

I have seen this color combination (ivory, gray and light rust or camel) with a gray sofa and it looks stunning. The tile floor seems to be the boss in the room so I would not go too far in another color direction combination. The first picture I attached is a rug from Pottery Barn. It has gray, ivory and light rust or camel tones. Coordinating pillows to pick up the color in the rug you choose is a must. Have fun decorating!
