Trim color: need a shade darker than S-W 7562 Roman Column
Comments (0)Good morning! I am very close to finalizing my paint selections for my new build. I love the wall colors I've selected but my trim color is still a little whiter than I'd like; I wanted something creamier. I do not want to do any antiquing. The trim will be used on doors, trim, crown molding, and most of the cabinetry in the house. The wall colors include: + S-W 6107 Nomadic Desert (same color card as Latte, just one shade lighter) + S-W 6105 Divine White (same color card as Latte, just three shades lighter) + S-W 7687 August Moon + S-W 7509 Tiki Hut The currently selected trim color is S-W 7562 Roman Column. It's a very nice white and looks creamy in most light, but now that I see it painted next to my wall colors on the sample boards, it looks too white. Most of our floors will be walnut stained red oak. The carpeted areas will be a regular ol' beige-brown carpet. Any suggestions? I do plan to call Sherwin-Williams today to see if they can recommend something 1 shade creamier. Thanks! try_hard ......See MoreBM beige paint for SW-facing bedroom? Experts?
Comments (4)Thanks for the responses! Funcolors, you're amazing--we have a pantry painted in Shaker Beige because I thought I might want to use it for the LR and DR, but it turned out to look a bit too dark. When I put the camel curtains next to it, though, they look beautiful together! I'm not sure if I can convince DH to use Shaker Beige in the bedroom because he's convinced it's too dark. I'm sure it will look different in a lighter room, though. Maybe I'll try a swatch...(after we've finished stripping the blasted wallpaper). The Quincy Tan is very nice, indecisive101, but it's darker than Shaker Beige, so I don't think that will fly with DH. Thanks!...See MoreHelp! Comments (14)From this Canadian website, https://thepaintpeople.com/painting-101/top-10-benjamin-moore-light-neutrals/ They mention "It was hard to decide between the two very similar brown-gray neutrals, 2111-60 Barren Plain and 2108-60 Abalone, so I’ve decided to mention both. They’re both comprised of violet/pink undertones, which is intensified under cool light (ie: daylight) and all but disappears under warm lighting, (ie: warm pot lights). These colours are rooted in a brown base colour that leaves the impression of a warm gray, but typically remaining light and neutral!" There is also Classic Gray – LRV: 74.74, Pale Oak – LRV: 69.89, Dreamy Cloud - LRV:76 meaning it will reflect quite a bit of light back into a room. In an intensely lit room with direct sunlight, it will fade out quite a bit but will regain its colour once the sun shifts....See MoreNeed a color a shade darker than SW Natural Linen
Comments (11)Maybe this will help get a more helpful answer to my question. 😉 Here is a Samplize and a painted sample board of SW Natural Linen against my cabinets. Looks good in my opinion!!! However, based on what happened to the current wall color (SW Neutral Ground), and the painted section (SW Natural Linen) below, I know that the paint will go on lighter and grayer on the actual wall. There is not enough contrast with the cabinets for me. There is contrast with the color on the board, but not when the color is painted on the walls. Above the sample board is the wall paint SW Neutral Ground. Below the sample board is a painted swatch of SW Natural Linen. I want the color with a tad bit more gold that actually looks like the sample board. Here are sample boards against the current color of SW Neutral Ground. See how the samples look a bit more beige than the gray color it took on the wall? Any more color suggestions?...See Morenhb22
