Comments (1)GWers are great at this sort of thing and will offer up many viable ideas and options for you. Do you have at least a rough sketch with dimensions (inlcuding placements of doorways and windows) of your space that includes all areas that need modification? Comments (1)Scrubber, If this is the one piece unit you may have to call Sears. I had the same problem with my last new unit. Sears worked on it for hours before discovering a "loose connection" behind the control panel. Ours would fill but not agitate unless dryer was on. Then the service guy had it washing and drying but the dryer elements would not energize completely unless washer was on. He did finally get it working but I asked for a replacement unit. This will be the third one of these that I have used in my houses. When they work, they do a good job....See MoreNew laundry room - is stacked w/d so bad?
Comments (8)I am 5'6" and I can reach everything. I love stacked. Reach down pull out wet clothes and straight into the dryer. No door to work around, no dropped clothes and a small foot print. Here are some safety hints, if it is in earth quack country have the dryer secured to the wall. You need to be able to easily reach the water cut offs. Mine is electric and high up on the wall close to the front. I turn off the water after I finish the laundry as flood proofing. Machines need to be serviced and vents need to be cleaned so rethink those panels. If you really want/need them look for Endurings postings and see her beautiful set up. She designed cabinets that allow for access to everything. My laundry is in a very tight closet and I have to remove my dryer every time I need to clean out or service anything. I don't mind since I live in a 4th floor condo and anything is better than the laundromat....See MoreSomething new-ish under the sun for small laundry rooms?
Comments (4)My LG WashTower (wkex200hba) was delivered this morning & installed. Have done 4 'loads' for a household of 1, me. 2010 Frigidaire sortof died as the door lock won't lock; dismantling & cleaning the contacts gave no results as probably due to the recent storm as I did hear the units turn on in the middle of the night. No 24 inchers in stock at Home Depot; the single unit Frigidaire was 78 in which is a smidgen taller to get thru the laundry closet door frame even tho the door had been removed. The washer is a bit louder washing than the 2010 Affinity; reason is that there is a longer drop for stuff being washed; relatively silent at high spin. Found that one still had to cycle thru temp selections & options even tho the panel is a "touch panel". Problem with the dryer may be pilot error as could not get out of "hot" mode" in the normal cycle where I had changed the default of "medium high". Tried the bedding mode with its default of medium high & saw a problem of the timer went back up after half-way thru; paused & felt the towels which were dry & cancelled the drying. Will need to go thru more washing/drying to see what fits with me. Must remember to empty or the dryer pump filter each month/week. Won't be able to provide more feedback as am happy with the tower unit & I don't do the "fancy" stuff which can be modified with more settings....See MoreKate
