Do seeds ever go on clearance?
Comments (17)A local grocery store has an outside plant section here. I went shopping for some 40 percent off shrubs and noticed that their seeds were 75 percent off. Well, a week later I decided to get a couple more shrubs and decided to pick up some seeds for next year. I grabbed a couple of packets with my roses and went to pay. I said "These are still 75 percent off, right?" because the sign wasn't up anymore. The cashier says "you can just take them, and go grab anymore that you are interested in..." SCORE! So I walked out with several tomato & pepper varieties...not much else I was interested in (I don't have a huge garden so I try to only plant what I'm sure we'll eat and enjoy and that will save us the most money at the grocery store). But I thought it was awesome and very nice of them to give them to me. They've got my business!...See MoreDo products from 'Dollar stores' work as well?
Comments (30)I realize that this is an old thread, but I wanted to put a warning out there about this 'Awesome' cleaning product available at the dollar stores, which is actually LA's Totally Awesome. It contains 2-butoxy ethanol which is highly toxic. Please see the link provided to read about the dangers. This product, IMO, should not be used at all. If you do use it, extreme caution should be used. Please don't use it with your bare hands and avoid breathing it in. This product is NOT the same as the Awesome product by R>F> Thompson Company which is an environmentally friendly product and non-toxic, using only citrus based ingredients. Blessings to all Laurie Here is a link that might be useful: dangers of 2-butoxy ethanol...See MoreWhere do the dollars go?
Comments (3)I don't know the exact route you plan to take, but you should probably figure out what type/ manufacturer of windows, doors, etc., you want to have in the house. If you want a special type of roofing shingles, what flooring you specifically want, if you want a specific manufacturer of HVAC & what type, etc. You know what I'm saying? I've read different postings where people have gotten very specific & picked-out every single thing. So you just do the same & just tell the builder "I want Pella double hung windows, I want a Trane HVAC system..." - whatever it is that you want. I suppose your builder will get a builder's discount for all materials (for lights & appliances, too - ours does). Your builder should then be able to look @ your plan & give you a base price for the house. Then figure in whatever extra costs for the specific things you want. We gave our builder a list of 'extras' that we wanted or upgrades & he got the pricing on it & told us before we ok'd it to be added. How does that sound?...See MoreDo you ever just want to go to the movies...
Comments (18)I don't go to the movies often. Prefer to watch them at home, especially recorded so if I miss a line I can see what was said, can use the bathroom without missing part of the movie and the like. When I'd go, and if it was expensive you bet I brought a couple cans of pop or beer but if it was a cheap movie then I would buy anything I wanted. Usually though I'm not that hungry at the movies. After working in stores with the popcorn makers I guess I've become numbed to the smell....See MoreRelated Professionals
