shrubs and trees to ID, please
Comments (5)Thank you all. I have about 1/4 acre of box elder seedlings and poison ivy to deal with! How do I tell them apart -- i believe that some poison ivy leaves have more serrated edges and so look more like the box elder seedlings -- is there another distinguishing feature? I've already had my first dose of poison ivy this year and trying to avoid more! Esh, that native azalea has not flowered yet this year -- do all of them flower before the leaves come out, or do some flower after? (its in quite a shady place, so maybe it just won't flower). Is trumpet creeper sold in nurseries? I have it growing in 2 of the 4 creeping phlox plants i bought from Lowes, so I'm wondering if it seeded in there in the nursery. I read that its very invasive (although beautiful), so I'm thinking I might pull it rather than transplant it. Thank you....See MoreSmall Tree/Shrub ID?
Comments (3)Looks like you nailed it bboy! This must be an early bloomer as the info I "googled" suggested blooming in May! Thanks again, Johnny...See MoreSelling tree and shrub seedlings on Ebay or Craigslist?
Comments (3)Call the MN dept of Ag and tell them you want to apply for a nursery stock grower license. Plan to meet the inspector and explain exactly what you want to do, and they can explain which certifications you will need, and what costs you will run into. You need a license to sell within Minnesota, and when you sell across state lines your product must comply with the other states' laws, as well as federal pest quarantines, such as for gypsy moth and japanese beetle....See MoreNeed some Florida tree/shrub IDs.
Comments (17)Thanks you guys. You are all so great! I will have to go out and retake the pics on #4. I might have messed that one up! I might go ahead and remove everything but the Sycamore and the oak just to be safe. I have lots of wild grape vines, blackberry, kudzu, and other stuff the goats can nibble on that is on the *safe list* lol. I also have to cut out a bunch of carolina jessamine that is growing every where back there because its supposed to be toxic. There's not a ton of shrubs in there because the last people who lived here had horses in there but I haven't had any animals in that pasture for several years....See Morekimpa zone 9b N. Florida.
