Is the wall under the vent behind the two chairs wide enough for the console table? If so, put it there and photo it again. Do you have a rug on which to anchor the three matching chairs? Is there a fourth matching chair or can you get another one? Circling them around a centered hassock/coffee table on a rug would work well, especially if you don't have a sofa yet. How do you like to use the screen? How many panels is it? With a sofa on the long wall, it can be used to screen off part of the opening to the dining room if you want to create more of a separation. Can you sketch out a floor plan with all the door and window measurements, as well as the walls lengths? What dining furniture do you have? Maybe you should finish unpacking, put your stuff out and then we can know what you have to work with.

@decoenthusiaste sorry I should have clarified. I moved knowing that I would be buying new furniture, specifically new couches and a dining room set. I was looking more for advice on potential layouts rather than how to layout the room with the furniture I already have. My initial though was to angle a curved couch kiddy corner to the front door or maybe get an L shaped sectional, but I thought it would be weird to have part of a couch sticking out into the living room. It doesn't help that the supply chains are so backed up that most couches won't get in until February at this point.

I have a 9 by 12 Persian rug for the room, as well as a runner to differentiate the entrance, though I don't know if both will fit (they're getting cleaned). I had four matching chairs, but one broke on the move here, and the prior move was not too kind to them either. I currently have no idea what to do with the screen; my place is more windows than walls. it has three panels and is the heaviest thing ever.

Since you have a 9 x 12 rug you want to use, that should guide the size of sofa you buy. I would shop locally and see what you can find that will fit the rug. I like a rug to slip under the front 1/3 to 1/2 of a sofa and extend past the ends by at least a foot or more. You have the option to place the sofa on the long wall, or to float it with its back to the dining opening. I'd like to see the leggy chairs sit entirely on the rug to ground them if they're keepers. I'd still try the console on the vent wall right of the dining opening. Angle one of your chairs beside it and angle the other two with a side table between them on the long wall while you shop for the sofa.

You said you have a console for the wall, does that mean you'll also be having a TV? If so, we might recommend floating a sofa facing the wall with the console/TV. This would probably be the easiest set up for you. You could also choose to set a sofa on the long wall, and then having chairs facing it floating in the room.
