Non-Chemical Smell Carpet Cleaning?
Comments (0)I prefer natural cleaning products or things like Mrs. Meyers' that don't smell awful, and I'd like to clean the carpet in my TV room. I've never had carpet before, so I don't really know what to do. Is there something I can use in a rented cleaner that won't smell dreadfully chemically? Any advice appreciated!...See Morefried food smell on office chair
Comments (7)My Mother gave me a leather chair. She was a heavy smoker and I could not get the smell out of that chair. I tried Febreze (did not work) and even a odor remover that I buy from a janitorial supply company. The odor remover would last for a few weeks and then the smell would come back. I think it would slowly come from the stuffing out through the leather. I finally gave it away. Maybe call an upscale furniture store or high end rug store and ask for recommendations. Also places that advertise that they clean after having a fire or water damage might be able to remove the smell....See MoreRE: Bosch DW gives off funny smell after several days of non-use.
Comments (2)That makes a lot of sense. I replaced the Bosch after 2 weeks (the odor was one of the reasons) and everything had been done correctly. And I tried all the fixes the Bosch help line told me. Got a Kitchenaid in its place and not once has that happened. I got so tired of folks saying that I must be doing something wrong. Nice to be validated like this. I don't understand why others don't have the same odor. But maybe they just don't notice it like I did....See MoreWeek 163 - What non American Thanksgiving food do you have?
Comments (51)Eam, beachem, cpartist, and all who gave recipes for purée ing turkey, thank you! I didn't see them till now, but I know the caregiver made purée with the leftovers. Mom's sister popped in on the way to her son's, just as we eer sitting down, so she helped Mom while DH and I oversaw things (and ate!). The carrots, Cook's Magazines boiled carrot recipe (I know, I know, who needs a recipe for boiled carrots? I do.) came out soft enough that she could manage them just fine, yet just firm enough for everyone else. I passed on the sweet potatoes, it was one too many things. I used Mom's wedding china, her gorgeous silver, and the damask napkins. She didn't recognize any of it, but it color-matched the family room where we ate better than their dining room :) Dad was in tears at the table, it was his first time home since August. The house is his baby, he designed it with an architect, his own company built it, on family land. Probably our last Thanksgiving in that house. Time for new traditions....See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
