So you want to combine the laundry room and the half bath to create a full bath. Seems doable if the laundry is moving elsewhere.

I would need to incorporate the laundry into the bathroom.

If I keep the existing laundry could perhaps build a countertop and cabinet around it to conceal? This is in a basement so ceiling height doesn't allow for stacking them.

Might be doable. I think you’ll have to lose the utility sink.

What is the actual ceiling height? If it’s habitable space (at least 80”) you have room for a stacked washer dryer.

I added inches per Jan's comment. This is based on the pnline 3D viewer - I haven't closed on this house yet, so don't have real life measurements. The ceiling is 83inches at tallest, but some pipes drop down about 11inches lower, so I don't think there's clearance for a stack...

How many $$s do you plan on spending? I think it's possible if you remove wall, change door entrance, do stackable laundry appliances, combine the two sinks into one, and move the toilet. But - doing so will not be cheap.

I don't really have a sense of what it would cost. Maybe $8k? Maybe I should just keep the wall and try to do a wet room shower type thing in the existing bath?

Is this on a cement slab?? that will be extra work to move plumbing around and will make it difficult to do a wet room since you have to be able to pitch the floor. Combining the spaces is really the only way. Any pipes suspended very far down from the ceiling can be moved higher if they are supply lines ( not easy to redo if they are drain lines due to their need to be pitched. Either way, what you are suggesting can run into $25k-$35k easily.

Oh, my! Thank you, Debbi. Yes, it is on a cement slab, I believe. I can't imagine moving any pipes. Yikes! That makes sense re the floor. Do you think removing the wall and shifting around the toilet and adding a bath - but not doing anything to the floor- would cost this much too?

Moving the toilet and adding a tub requires moving and adding plumbing. There is no way to add a tub without cutting the slab.
