i did it! my first sock! i can't believe i did it!!
Comments (12)Congratulations! As Rebecca said, yes, weave in your tail. Be sure to go up and down, not side to side. Side to side will take away from the stretchyness provided by the ribbing at that point. (I once did side to side weaving on a sock where I changed colors frequently, and it really make the sock hard to get on.) Can you join at cast-on so you don't have the dip? I join by the trading stitches method. I don't know how others do it. Yes, picking up stitches for the gusset is the hardest part. I usually pick up 2 extra also. I bought double sets of needles and worked on each sock alternating back and forth so they were both done at the same time, but I have never had "second sock syndrome" where I didn't want to start the second one. He wants to play with your masterpiece, your fabulous creation!!!??? LOL! Oh well, at least he takes an interest in what Mom's doing. Tell him you'll knit him a pair to wear one of these days. Cute story....See MoreI can't believe I did this...but now I need help!!!
Comments (10)When I am alone in the afternoon I make a cup of instant coffee. I mixed the coffee in a mug and apparently put the container of instant coffee in the micro. When I came inside about 4-5 mins later I had the most awful smell of something burning. When I figured it was the micro I couldn't even recognize what was melted in there. I cleaned up the mess and scrubbed forever with windex, vinegar and baking soda. It was improved but still smelled when I used it for about a week. It is completely gone now. I also left the door open for a few hours....See MoreI can't believe I forgot to figure out where to store a step stool
Comments (55)cpartist why would you want to run all the way to the garage to get a step stool Thank you, Claire. The door to the garage is right next to my kitchen so no running. And I live in FL so it's not like it's a problem with cold air. Heat yes. Cold no. There is a space right next to the steps that lead down for a hook on the wall for the step stool. It's really not an issue as I had thought it might be. cpartist does this tall cabinet actually exist in the kitchen where you are able to add a bar above cabinets and have the ladder tucked away when it’s not in use. Yes it does but as noted in the drawing that is a wall up against it. Plus there is no room. Also my kitchen is mostly finished. The cabinet peeking out on the left below is the cabinet you circled. The wall next to it juts out 24" to frame in the nook with the buffet. To the right of the buffet is the door to the garage....See MoreI can't believe this exists I'm so excited
Comments (15)On my phone I can't type. Or rather I can, but then Houzz erases EVERYTHING. When I use voice recognition, it write almost what I say, but I can't edit without gobbledegoop coming up. It repeats the word multiple times.I think with Houzz's issues we need to cut people some slack. Sometimes a laptop isn't nearby or convenient when we just HAVE to respond to a post! I'm just happy people still love to garden. : ))...See MoreAngel 18432
