Need your best Chocolate and Peanut Butter dessert!
Comments (21)This is, hands down my favorite dessert ever. It's an old Pillsbury bake-off winner that my mom has been making for close to 30 years. A couple of changes-I never, ever use raw eggs. Too risky. Instead I pick up some egg beaters. Also if I'm in a hurry I just use a container of cool whip instead of whipping cream. I describe this to people as a frozen peanut butter mousse with a peanut butter crust and chocolate swirls. MARBLE - OUS PEANUT BUTTER DESSERT 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. peanut butter (I use crunchy & it is great!) 1/4 c. butter, softened 1 c. flour 1 c. (6 oz. pkg.) chocolate chips FILLING: 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened 1/2 c. sugar 1/4 c. peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1 c. (1/2 pt.) whipping cream, whipped & sweetened In small mixer bowl, cream brown sugar, peanut butter and butter until light and fluffy. Add flour; blend until crumbly. Sprinkle into ungreased 13 x 9 inch baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Set aside half of crumb mixture (about 1 cup) for topping. Lightly press remaining crumb mixture over bottom of pan. Prepare filling. Pour over crumb mixture in pan. Melt chocolate chips; drizzle over filling. Gently cut through to marble. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs; press in slightly. Freeze at least 2 hours or until serving. Remove from freezer 10 minutes before serving. Filling: In small mixture bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, peanut butter and vanilla; beat at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. By hand, fold in whipping cream. Tip: If desired, you may substitute 2 cups (4 1/2 ounce carton) frozen whipped topping....See MoreSauces/Toppings for Ice Cream?
Comments (27)Pat, I asked around the office today and the only DQ here in the Tulsa Metro is a combo with Orange Julious(sp) in the big mall. I don't do the big mall very often and I think it's a new thing. I've had some good times out at Keystone back in the day. One of my sales reps lives in Mannford, same area as Cleveland and she said no DQ's to be found. There are some in other smaller towns around the state though. There is a chance I might be in Dustin sometime in the next year or so. A friend has an Aunt who owns a rental on the beach that we would like to go to and chill out for a long weekend. Not sure how far you are from there but if you are close we will have to get together. It would be great to meet you and have a drink or a DQ! David...See MoreIce Cream?
Comments (15)I only bought one container of ice cream at the store this year. It was Breyer's vanilla and was fine for when I made peach melba this summer. But on the route to one of the farmers' markets I frequent, there's a store that makes their own ice cream and occasionally I'll stop in and get a double dip to bring home. They have many seasonal flavors but my favorites are chocolate marshmallow, which in addition to streaks of mashmallow sauce has tiny whole marshmallows in it and their black cherry pictured below, which needs no description....See MoreDo you have a favorite ice cream flavor or brand?
Comments (52)salgal- I have to agree with you about Lapp Valley Farm in Pa. When we live in CT we went to Lancaster County twice a year to visit the Amish. We found that farm when we were riding around. The ice cream could not be beat. The older Amish man told us he could wrap the ice cream for us so we could bring it back to CT & it would not thaw & he was right. Hubby has a sweet tooth so we always came back with at least 8-10 gallons....See More- 5 years agolast modified: 5 years ago
