Question on a wall with orange peel texture repair estimate

I'm looking to get what looks to be a settling crack in my stairwell repaired but the two estimates I received are so far apart I don't know which would be the best option. I am looking to sell next year so I'd like the repair to not be noticeable.

It has some compound put over it before when some painting was done but really just made it more noticeable.

The first estimate was :

Cover floors at working areas before starting the work

Wall to the right of the stairs and same wall at living room

Cut spackle and mesh taped mud and skim coat the entire wall from living room to the top of the stairs

Skim coat make smooth and texture orange peel

Mask all the areas that are need it to be mask before start the painting

Let texture dry and paint homeowner is going to give us the code so we can match existing paint

Apply two coats of paint clean up all masking materials after painting is done

$2495.00

The second estimate was:

Drywall Repair crack on the wall.

Apply mesh tape

Apply 2 coats of easy san compound

Apply light orange peel texture.

Paint only the area repaired.

$345
